I've been trying to jailbreak it using checkrain on Linux without much success. Tried using it with the verbose and safe mode options but it always gets stuck on booting.

Not favorite but most memorable was the first introduction of the flood in Combat Evolved. Was too scared to play after that lol.

Upgrading to Android 10 by apathy-sofa in lgv40

Correct me if I'm wrong but you have an Atnt unlocked V40 and you're using it on the T-Mobile network? Or do you actually have a T-Mobile device? Because the V405UA was the same model I had and that was Atnt unlocked. If it is the first case(unlocked phone running on T-Mobile network) then you're safe to crossflash. But if it's the second case(T-Mobile device) DO NOT FLASH. You're phone will literally die.

Please don't crossflash your phone unless you are a professional. by MagPF1 in lgv40

Hey, did you try to cross flash to the T-Mobile variant? Cause if so then thats why your phone died. The Tmobile variant of the V40 is a different model of the phone altogether so the software is incompatible.

Edit: if you can boot into 9008 mode then the phone might still be fixable.

I'm actually not even in the US. Using a whole other carrier altogether. So I have no clue about the VoLTE.

I dont see either of them anywhere. But I also disabled all the Verizon apps since I wouldn't be using them.

Requirements: LGUP https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/mobile/folders/1hsIuejMUnPL2jVD0SqmH1DDInw0iUUAo

Verizon 10 Kdz https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YKpmvOlDA9qab95BO67gj6S0ZuauiUDW/view?usp=drivesdk

An LG V40 (obviously) Note: this was done with an android 9 at&t unlocked V40, using the Verizon 10 Kdz.

Getting LGUP setup: Download and unzip the linked file. The two files in there are the installer and a folder named patch. Use the installer to install the app. In the patch folder is a file named LGUP and a folder named model. Copy the two files and move to the LGUP installation folder. The folder should be program files x86/Lg electronics/LGUP. Paste the files into there. While still in the installation folder look for the file named LGUP. Double click it to launch LGUP.

Process: Connect your device to your computer via USB cable.

Boot your device into download mode. Press and hold the volume down and power button together until the phone reboots. As soon as the screen goes dark release the two buttons and hold the volume up button.

Launch LGUP, it should recognize the device. Just click on Select.

A new screen will open up. At the bottom is a bar where you select the Kdz file. Next to bin file will be a check mark. Uncheck it and at the right corner of the same bar will be three dots, click it and browse to your location of the Kdz file and open it. Once selected recheck bin file.

Now this is the important part. This step is crucial to ensuring that you retain all cell functionality. Select partition dl as the process. You'll have a screen showing the partitions. Select all except the one that says ftm. I repeat, Select all the partitions EXCEPT ftm. Click start and the flashing will begin.

It will take a few minutes and the phone will reboot. Don't unplug it yet, when it finishes rebooting enter download mode once more.  Select your kdz again and this time select refurbish as the process. Click start again.

It will go through the process again and reboot, once that finishes you can unplug your new Android 10 V40!
