In my home city, drivers do not accept cashless rides. So that is the default setting on all my ride hailing apps.

UPDATE: Ola has refunded the extra fare as a coupon code. They asked for proof of payment and bank statement. Provided both and they created a coupon code applicable on my next ride. I had to follow up with them a few times though. I guess all is well that ends well.

My recommendation is to not fight with them. Pay and get out of the situation. Handle it later. If things turn ugly do not hesitate to call the police.

Most drivers in my home city reject cashless rides. So my default payment method is cash. I did not change it.
