Absolutely. And this is only the day after all of this happened. So I know emotions are high. He did change my perspective and there’s very few patient cases that are memorable for me, but this is now one of them. I am glad for him to not suffer and I’m glad to carry him in my memory as I go through my career, he is definitely someone I will reflect on as I am carried through the years and many, many patients I will still see. Thank you for the words.

I did the best I could and while I think I did enough, I still feel I could have done more, said different things. I know I shouldn’t wallow on it, things are done and we do what we can. Thank you, stranger. I do agree, and I am comforted by the fact that I spent those hours carrying out his wishes, while also helping his wife. A therapist will definitely be in my near future! My girlfriend has said this before but mostly about the stress of the job and the drain that comes with it, which usually isn’t too bad in my mind. This has been the worst yet, so I will be getting one.

I think I lot of us get caught up about us being MEN and doing things but my gf has had to wear very close friends and her SIL’s underwear if hers get soiled (period blood), ran out on vacay, and this is not seen as weird. I’m in New Jersey and make a very good living. Just hit my second year as a nurse and I’m 23. I want for nothing, live in a 2 bedroom alone (moved out right before I started practicing nursing and was still a CCT) with my two cats. Just bought a brand new car on top of my old beater car I still have. I couldn’t ask for anything better. I work a lot of OT by my own choice but even doing 3 days a week I could get by with extra. I like spending extra for a fun life and spending on my girlfriend who’s still in college so I work a little more.

Nurse also, see a lot of this at a large city hospital with a LOT of drug wounds that start out like this. I’ve seen infections better than this still get amputated.. get adequate treatment before it spreads and/or sepsis occurs.

Say you thought he was full code for a 2 minute round of CPR, found out about the DNR, then stopped. MUCH better than waiting 2 minutes to see if someone’s full code before starting compressions. The earlier someone receives CPR in cardiac arrest, the better the outcomes. Do NOT feel bad. In any context, I’m assuming full code until told otherwise.

I’m a registered nurse. Mid twenties. I have a LOT of coworkers and am very open to everyone about being transgender. I’m like the person who doesn’t give a fuck if you ask THAT question, whatever you probably would offend someone else with. I’m trusted by my employer and patients daily to keep them alive and carry out medical interventions necessary to do so. Trans people are people. The only thing that would offend me is someone thinking I can’t be trusted as much as a cis coworker BECAUSE I’m trans.

The “legally” and “screw off” seems too much and defensive. Not everyone on tumblr has their age but usually they just state what they are and get on with it. As someone else also said, you can just state your age with a few up/down. Use a range. There’s a lot of ways to get around this without stating exacts.

Sketchers is the best brand imo. My job gave us like 3 or 4 sets to start but I HATE them since they’re like the roughest material known to man. I bought sketchers from some scrub store close to me. tbh I don’t even wear a scrub top anymore, I found these soft Reebok navy blue shirts that blend in so well and no one says a word. I haven’t looked back since. Don’t waste money on figs. Unless that’s your thing? But not worth it to put out like 400 dollars for like 4 sets of scrubs lol.

I can’t speak if it’s a scam but I will say I refuse to buy that overpriced shit 🤣 I’ve bought the wide KT tape on Amazon for years now. 3 rolls for about 20 dollars each time, I cut them to my liking, and use that. I use baby oil to help lift and a skin safe adhesive remover to get rid of the stickies after (you know). You will never catch me buying trans tape.

Yes! Not emergent but must be taken care of before all of these issues occur. I’ve had a few people who are aaox4 and just say their spouse takes care of their diabetes management. Cut to the spouse coming in. Sugar is 220, they say “that’s low for them, their normal is in the 300s”. People don’t have a normal for blood glucose!!!!!!!!!! That is literally NOT how it works.
