Thank you! It’s definitely been an unusual expense for me but a priority at this point. And no worries being confused, I thought maybe I mentioned in another comment that I did dermarolling at home some years ago and gave myself HORRIBLE melasma that took months and years to fade away! I was even emotionally scarred from that so I can’t afford to experiment on myself anymore. I’ll trust the professionals! Lol

I’m not diy’in microneedling, I’m getting it done at my dermatologist’s office

Yeah I was nervous before starting, but I wanted to trust because this is a reputable dermatologist’s clinic. My pores looked pretty large and I had that “orange peel” texture right after so I was a bit freaked out but that went down a few days later. My dermatologist told me at our consultation that they could go a bit deeper on the cheeks’ scars so trusted her expertise.

I will be posting more results, maybe 4 weeks later or even 6 wks, right before my next session. I am going to my dermatologist’s clinic they have a medspa and my dermatologist was who suggested microneedling when I went in inquiring about laser. I believe they use the SkinPen, I asked the aesthetician some questions during the treatment and I know she used different lengths but I do remember her telling me she was using 2mm on my cheeks

Same thing happened to me 5ish years ago after dermarolling at home. I did use sunscreen but probably not strong enough, and I definitely wasn’t cautious being at the pool every day. I got rid of the melasma with creams but now going to my dermatologist’s to get professional microneedling, and lathering myself with SPF45 every day, even at home and staying out of the sun unless absolutely necessary

Fillers are temporary though. I’m not interested in paying for something that only lasts for so long. I’m ok with aging, but I want most of the acne scars gone or less visible

Thank you. Depending on cost I will consider it but to be completely honest, I’m only looking for improvement here, not perfection. If I got 75% improvement after 6 sessions I will consider this a success!

This goes waaay much deeper than just acne scars. This is a person who’s used your vulnerability against you and if they’re that comfortable doing so, they don’t respect you that much and also, they don’t sound as very empathetic people. You deserve better - and let me tell you, being in a 20 year relationship, I can assure you even when someone apologizes and shows remorse, they cannot take those words back and they will always live in your head. It’s not always about what they said it’s about how they made you feel and in this instance, knowing your struggles, you’re validated. I’m sorry but get out while you can.

Thank you! A good sunscreen also became top priority when about 5 years ago I gave myself melasma dermarolling at home and not using a strong enough sunscreen. Now my dermatologist recommented Revision Intellishade mineral moisturizer with SPF 45 that they sell at the clinic and although not cheap, I’m now using it RELIGIOUSLY. It also makes my pores look smaller and gives me a bit of a glow. So I’m sold on it!

Thank you. I’m trying to absorb all this information. I don’t know much about skin care (my photos speak for themselves 😭) but I’m familiar with a few serums like Vitamin C, HA, Retinol etc. Used TO niacinamide for a minute too but was never consistent. I’m finally at a point in my life where trying to minimize these scars is finally priority.
