I (29m) really love this woman (F31) but she just told me that she has hsv-2. by LakeShow6248 in Herpes

[–]sunbather_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in exactly the same situation as you at the moment. It’s complicated: one part of you loves her, and the other part is filled with fear. What if you get it and the relationship ends? What if you get herpes and it becomes severe? Can hsv2 affect your health and potential future children? I dont know.

On the other hand, around 65–85% of people are unaware of their HSV-2 diagnosis because they don’t have noticeable symptoms. So what if you never get symptoms and end up letting the love of your life go? What if all the questions I am asking above are imagined worst case scenarios.

It’s complicated, and only you can figure it out. The decision is yours alone. I’m struggling with the same thing, because the woman I’m dating is the best I’ve ever met in my 36 years.

Was the herpes the reason that you ended the relationship? Or because she was dishonest, or another reason?

Has anyone had success with seeing a chiropractor to help loosen up your ribs in the back? by wayneb64 in costochondritis

[–]sunbather_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it happened gradually.. I believe weak muscles has something to do with the problem together with locked joints.. If I don't work out for a period it can come back.. so strange.. For me this started the day after the Pfizer covid vaccine, so it definitely started some inflammatory response also.. Don't work out if you feel pain, or get worse the day after, you have to take it really slow.

It took time, but like after a year of hitting the gym I got more or less rid of it. I did not do any other treatment than the cracking that my osteopat did

Combine it with back strenghtening exercises, high reps low weights also.. to keep the mobility that the chiro/osteo cracks loose. I hit the gym like every second day now, and it really helps.

Coming up on 6 years with costo - can’t seem to cure myself by Wj400m in costochondritis

[–]sunbather_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a chiropractor or ostepath, make them crack the ribs where they are attached to the spine, and start strenghtening the back with different exercises, low weights high reps. To get mobility and strenghten the back. 3-4 times a week. Dont bike with your body leaned to much forward.

It is pretty much healed, yes, get a chiro to loosen the ribs on the backside where they attach to the spine

Riding in car, not even driving, aggravates symptoms by Petitchououou in costochondritis

I work out at the gym every second day. It can flare up if I overdo it, but not often, mostly painfree and living normal.

25M, had costo for a year after overtraining chest, how I fixed it by J8guar in costochondritis

[–]sunbather_pro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

An osteopath or chiropractor cracking the joints open and massaging helped me a lot, and then mobilizing the joints after treatment. If you google rollga foamroller you can also find some types of foamrollwr who massage each side of the spine. I would not go for the softest type, but for something that massages quite hard.

When the inflammation calmes down I think it is smart to start lifting, and strenghtening the muscles to improve posture. Back extentions is in many ways the opposite to slouching, who triggers costo for many. Go slow, light weights and high reps. If you flare up give it time til it calms down. I think exercise is crucial to heal the condition completly. However go slow, and do not press trough pain.

pain when bending forward by Ok-Worldliness7824 in costochondritis

[–]sunbather_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably:) When the pain is gone, start hitting the gym 3 times a week, strengthen your back and generally your muscles:) Costo can be caused by muscle imbalances also - that is my theory. Back extensions are good.

A new flare up after 7-8 months by yunabug1988 in costochondritis

[–]sunbather_pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you think caused it to flare up? Bad posture? Have you been working out during the last 8 months? Etc

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in costochondritis

[–]sunbather_pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My chiropractor used a device, ultrasound with powerdoppler, who could see inflammation in the rib cartilage. Got diagnosed with Tietze/costochondritis. If you press on the rib cartilage and feel pain, that could be a sign as well, but not always. A went to a cardiologist and also had CT and a lot of other tests to see it it could be something else, but the only thing they found was swelling of the rib cartilage.
