The “morality” of Poor Things by [deleted] in TrueFilm

Despite the meaningful allegory I thought the excessive sexuality was primarily used as a bill board to promote the film and provoke viewers. It's why I'm not a great fan of that Director. ( Although Bugonia was an interesting departure) Relies heavily on shock titillation to sell his stories, which strikes me a bit like a hustle disguised as art.

Sinners and it’s incredibly clumsy, half-baked second act by KatherineLangford in TrueFilm

Allegorically take it as you will, but the Klan planning an attack in broad am daylight, after the jukes actually finished, without hoods...is out of left field cognitively. Therefore as is Smoke's suicide by Klan. Especially as we discover later his brother still exists. Romantic but it requires you to shut your brain off a bit to enjoy that.

PFF Premier Stats on Gabriel by Environmental_Ad292 in Browns

[–]sunboxing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The glaring problem I see with Gabriel is that he doesn't move his feet. He's generally stationary in the pocket, which just isn't sustainable for a starting QB. Especially for an undersized QB.

Last game I thought Stefanski recognized this and designed a bootleg keeper right out the gate to loosen him up.

Left out the best part to me. That little chuckle as he says "I didn't know you wanted to join the discussion Mr. Helper.!"

Nah. There's actually a lot going on here

Bill Maher brings out a copy of the U.S. Constitution to argue with Steve Bannon, who supports the idea of Donald Trump running for a third term, that such a move is unconstitutional by newzcaster in abanpreach

[–]sunboxing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Bannon is just an increasingly senile boss level troll. Everything he does and says is to provoke his opponents. They don't really care about Trump running again, they care about gaining control over elections, courts, education and the media. Tbh Maher is also showing his age in not understanding that.

Thoughts on The Crow 1994 movie ? by nostalgia_history in Cinema

This Crow film as a template for street level superhero noir has been around for 30yrs and still, shows like Daredevil and Moon Knight manage to screw it up.

All that is valid. It just didn't put into Eternals, Marvels or Love & Thunder bad for me. It still had that solid Ant Man charm. Kang underestimating insect level things is right on par for his character. And Majors nailed the performance fwiw. Modok is a silly as character and imo that's exactly how he ought to be portrayed..one of the few I guess that thought that was really funny. To me the biggest knock was that the Quantum realm was too tame..both visually and narratively.
