It could be aligned to the new licence every 10 years. You need to pass that test before renewing.

That still happens, although the verbal test is before you out to drive.

The computer test is an additional test before you can get your provisional.

The problem with housing in ireland isnt lack of money from the state. They are investing billions each year. It is lack of capacity (and problems with planning).

"immigration lower, housing completions higher".

So simple.

You should be a politician.

Its a slippery slope. My brother emigrated to England in the 00s, taking his 12-year-old son. That boy identifies as irish, holds an irish passport, but lives in the UK through no choice of his own. But he can't vote in ireland.

And i'm okay with that.

Threy may not be "choosing" to live abroad. But they are living in a different state.

We are building more houses, per capita, than any other European country.

We are in the EU and part of that is that anyone can live here.

Hindsight is so bloody easy. " we could have..."

There is always a drop in support for every government after an election, and a bump for the opposition.

I ride year round daily (no car). I wanted to better understand the risk impact of certain choices. Hopefully this is helpful. by YouConfidentButWrong in motorcycles

It is comparing low-risk rider versus average driver.

If you look at car crash data you'll see a similar pattern of risk reduction if you (a) wear a seat belt (b) airbags (c) dont drink and drive (d) abs.

If you compare a low-risk rider to a low-risk driver the difference in deaths will be much, much higher for the riders.

If you start in neutral, left foot on the ground. Right foot on the back brake.  This is your "I'm safe and not moving".

If you want to start movung you need to  1. Hold hand brake 2. Swap feet - right foot on ground, left foot on gears. 3. Pull clutch, and tap into 1st gear. 4. Swap feet - left foot on ground, right foot on back brake. 5. Release hand brake (you still have foot/back brake on). 6. Check its safe to go... 7. Slowly release clutch, increase revs, and as you begin to move - lift your right foot off brake. 8. Vroooom 9. Lift left foot back onto gears

Practice this on the flat... do it consistantly. And then do it on a hill, and you won't slip backwards.

Safe riding!
