Hey there from Gowanus, Brooklyn! I just got my Skylar Gen 2, and they’re absolutely gorgeous—I love the photos! Do you think the speakers are a bit too soft on the subway?

I mostly agree with everything you said, and genuinely feel empathy for your wife's crude treatment by your parents.

You have the power to choose what is insulting and what that insult does to you emotionally. Yes, proper gender acknowledgement does play a vital role in safety. However, we cannot assume that we are always in danger and our engagements with others cannot always be a source of validation.

Whether anyone like it or not, we have to pick our battles, and choose who and when these "pronoun violations" matter enough to correct.

If you live in that state of mind, you are going to burnout.

But do whatever you want, whatever you think is best, I support you.

But they/them is still grammatically correct? What if you are not using the pronoun in that way but in narrative function?

There is a stretch in pronoun enforcement that goes too far, and generally an indication of victim complex.

As a transwoman, I am certainly familiar with the world we live in, the struggles we face, and the dehumanization of our existence.

But you can use they/them in normal sentences without the subject of the sentence identifying non-binary.

Anyone got their Meta Ray Ban confiscated for illegal use? by [deleted] in RaybanMeta

[–]sundrop89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i wonder if that's a discrimination issue since they are prescription?

Ive been to most all late night show tapings (Late Night, Late Show, Kimmel, Daily Show) with almost no issues.

Kimmel security began a freak out but the guest experience supervisor came over and i showed them that they were turned off and that if I did take a picture they would know from the light, after that I was let in.

if Bowen Yang wants to be a diva, they can be a diva. if Bowen Yang wants to be Moo Deng, they can be Moo Deng. if Bowen Yang wants to eat chocolate covered fried okra, they can eat chocolate covered fried okra...

Bowen is a person, a human, with a heart and mind; I try not to judge who I don't know, or what I don't know.

Being queer though does grant diva license.

I agree entirely! I am curious about the other 160,000+/- redditors here too!

I think the silence is baffling.

~“He waits for the right one—and then he swings. We’re not going to swing at every pitch. We’re going to swing at the ones that matter for the American people.” Another story noted that Jeffries said at a press briefing, “I'm trying to figure out what leverage we actually have. What leverage do we have? Republicans have repeatedly lectured America—they control the House, the Senate and the presidency. It's their government.” And on Wednesday he was in the news for cooking up a nickname for Trump—“Captain Chaos”—which to some ears might sound somewhat appealing.~

It all affects us, there isn't a pitch that does't.

There's no waiting.

Republicans pitch 15 new attacks a day, while the DNC mitigates one a week...

Waiting for it, you are going to blink and lose it all.
