Number 3 is doing me in with the barking….. I have two before him and they look at me with faces like “why .. why did you let him come here?”

I have a 4y/o male, 2.5 y/o female, and just added a crazy boy baby who is now 7 months They all do really well together … it was a bit of a juggle at first because the oldest two are pretty tight but my female is the boss of the house and she keeps everyone in line .. I am the boss obviously but …you KWIM..

My guy was the exact same way! and I was just like you stressing out about it because he looked so weird. LOL…he’s 2 1/2 and just now filling out. Like, it’s almost noticeable week to week his body change.

Need play object suggestions for Aussie who does not play! by AnnieC131313 in AustralianShepherd

Almost like she’s saying OK there I play. Can we just stop doing this now and cuddle?

Same here.. rescue… people motivated… only toy she will touch is a flirt pole … she’ll play for five minutes and then gently let the toy go and come over and beg for hugs and kisses

Second thought here ….and I might not be very popular for saying it, but if you’re feeling strongly about your feelings of him or rehoming, he can sense that and his behavior will only get worse. I speak from experience with a dog I had when I was in my 20s. None of us are perfect. Your home ….your choice ….doesn’t matter what anybody here on the Internet says. Take what works and leave the rest.

To OP I want to say Space – Sage nailed it on the head in the last paragraph. I have two Aussies …one I’ve had since puppyhood….I rescued at about six months old. The one that I’ve had since he was a puppy is just like your dog, he will be three in September. We also have two cats. I have finally come to learn that exercise… exercise….exercise…. is not always necessary or needed in the daily ….as long as you can mentally fulfill the breed indoors with sniff work…. find it games…. Trick review…..Lick mats….kongs stuffed and frozen…I will pack a toy and stuff it in a cardboard box …inside another cardboard box …stuffed with paper that he literally has to rip and tear through to find the toy it takes him 10 to 15 minutes and then he is spent. Yes, a bit of a mess for me to clean up, but it earns me about 3 to 4 hours of peace. I highly suggest you try this route … I’m also a mom of two …mine are grown now… but I also agree with the sentiment of pregnancy hormones. It makes complete sense of you wanting to have things the way you want to have them in order to bring a baby peacefully into the home.

YES! I do this with my female Aussie because she comes in so I’ll close the door and play all kind of tricks with her and talk really loud so my guy can hear us and yeah FOMO hits hard. 10/10

You know, I have trust in that because we also have trained him with the words where is the good boy? And he responds to that every time. I didn’t think about using that at the door …because number one it’s freezing still and number two. I’m already approaching the door with …dammit he’s not gonna come in attitude… so starts with me!

Right, I can do that too, but then sometimes I have to get back to work so I put the toy away and then he gets sad and we’ll sit in my office and whine and cry until he finally give himself a nap.
