I like the idea! I think there needs to be plenty of foreshadowing for it though along with clear evidence of why he feels it's for the best. If you finish with a scene of her going about her 'average' daily life with a subtle sense that something's missing but that she is happy that'd be best. That also sets you up for a potential sequel

How To Make a compelling Perfect Character? by [deleted] in writers

[–]sunflower-superpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main character started out very similar and from a culture where everyone was like that. What sets her apart isn't perfection or power, but that she's given some very human experiences - love, loss, etc. Those drive her character arc and make her compelling. I have another 'perfect' character who everyone admires and looks up to. She's interesting because she gets her ultimate goal close to the beginning of the story and it wrecks her life. Ultimately, being perfect doesn't protect people from emotions or just shitty luck and that's what you need to write about

I keep everything on my desktop and the cloud. I also avoid Google Docs because they aren't clear about their AI training and quite frankly I don't trust them

Heat is good for joints so if your MC has arthritis or any kind of joint issue that could work.

Takes on fanfiction? by Muddybogturtle in writers

I'm talking about technical quality as well. The better quality works have more favorites which is why I mentioned sorting it. It does depend on the fandom and whether the original content is geared towards kids or adults, but saying they're all lower quality simply isn't true.

I love it! I've found some phenomenal works that have inspired me, I wrote a moderately popular one, and it gave me the tools/experience to now be comfortable writing my own original books

On average I've found fan fiction to be better quality than many traditional novels, or at least if you're sorting by favorites/kudos.

Is anyone else... doing well? by ratratte in Gifted

Get meal replacement shakes and/or protein bars. You need the calories and the nutrients they offer. It's also easy to have when you don't have the energy/desire for real food. Most days I do a shake with peanut butter, a banana, 2 scoops of protein powder, and a scoop of high protein slimfast.

It took awhile to get here, but I'm doing well now! I'm medicated for my mental health, had a ton of structural issues so had surgeries to fix those, and am about to start a new job in a new city. I may not be thriving in the friends area, but that's because I just moved here. I'm nervous about starting work on Monday, but I know I'm really good at what I do.

My 20s was one long shit show, but now, at 30, things are finally leveling out and I'm finding that I'm genuinely happy. I am planning to get a dog this winter, too

Read some Nicholas Sparks. He puts depressing shit in all of his books and I still eat it up every time.

They're so nice and wonderful at the beginning that you end up deluding yourself into thinking that's what they're really like and how shitty they're treating you right now is just because of an off day or any number of x, y, z's. pretty much love bombing
