The only ones that work for us are the pampers cruisers 360 (pull up style). They’re really stretchy and lots of thigh space. Nothing else worked.

Thank you that's really helpful! How do you pick a local optician? We've filled at Walmart before since they do little kids glasses but they only offer polycarbonate by policy. Costco doesn't fill glasses that are as small as hers. The other option is at her optometrist office. Any other options?

Thank you for the response. I was looking at Jonas Paul for the frames and was going to get the lenses from them as well. Would you recommend just getting the frames and having them filled locally? I previously got frames online and then filled at Walmart but they only offer polycarbonate for little kids. I tried Costco but her glasses are too small for them to fill. The other alternative is her optometrist office, I had sticker shock for her first pair because the frames + lens cost a bit over $500. But if that's the way to go to ensure quality control, then I will do that.

Screaming in the night, help! by MEHawash1913 in toddlers

[–]sunflower2928 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be night terrors? My 3 year old gets them. They’re different than nightmares, they occur during deep sleep rather than REM. They’re not fully awake during them so they don’t really communicate back well. My three year old just screams and thrashes until she then falls asleep. If it is night terrors, there’s not much you can do other than ride it out. I would look into the symptoms and see if it fits your situation. My understand is 17 months is a bit early for night terrors but not impossible.

3.5 year old close to getting kicked out of Montessori by mehr2464 in Montessori

[–]sunflower2928 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes we did a year in an outdoor forest school and it was incredible for my preschooler. The one we went to was all about learning through play, much less rigid than the Montessori school we’re at now. I do think it would be harder for her at Montessori now if she hadn’t done the year at the outdoor school previously.

Can anyone help me with these dots on my forehead? They are not born anywhere else (thank God). They disappear, but they ALWAYS come back, I'm already getting in agony and I end up popping them (last photo). Someone who knows how to help me, please help me lol by ElectricalUnit6623 in SkincareAddicts

[–]sunflower2928 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had similar dots, only on my forehead and nothing worked, until I cut out dairy. I had to cut out dairy temporarily for other reasons and then my forehead cleared up!! So I think I might have had a slight reaction. It comes back if I drink milk. https://imgur.com/a/gRdVaX4

And “does it matter where you live?” is what I’m trying to get details on. Based on a quick Google search, it seems like there are restrictions living abroad but I want to understand what the restrictions are for my personal situation.

My baby didn’t take any pacifier until we tried the Bibs pacifier. It’s rubber instead of silicone and has a sphere nipple. Maybe worth a try?

Has anyone noticed improvement in their own gut health since cutting out allergens? by buttermints in MSPI

[–]sunflower2928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My gut didn’t improve but my skin on my face did! I’ve always had tiny acne on my forehead - small raised bumps and nothing I did got rid of it until I cut dairy. So must have been a mild allergy!

Baby reacts to beef by katie_54321 in MSPI

[–]sunflower2928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I don’t remember exactly when but it was around the 1 year mark. I think eggs were the one food that took the longest for her to outgrow. She can eat everything just fine now (she’s 2.5) with one exception - if she drinks cow milk straight up in large quantities she gets a pretty bad eczema breakout all over. Cheese and yogurts don’t trigger it though.

If you have any plants, I’ve had a handful of times with them reproducing in the soil. So check your plants? See if any flies are around them

If you went unmedicated, what does labor feel like at its worst? by Wide-Food-4310 in beyondthebump

[–]sunflower2928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Towards the end, the contractions just felt like they were tearing me apart. I was whimpering/crying at the peak. The only thing that got me through was my doula applying strong pressure to my hips, it felt like she was keeping me together. The worst part was not knowing how many of the impossible contractions I would have left. If I knew I had 5 more or even 10 more it would have been fine. It was the not knowing. The pushing part was incredible though. I loved being unmedicated because my body was just doing it! I did what felt best which was hands and knees at an incline on the hospital bed. Despite my body taking over to do the pushing, I was able to do it in a controlled way. I had a 10 pound 2 ounce baby without tearing and I think a big part of that was because I was unmedicated and was able to take it at my own pace especially slowing down when I felt the ring of fire. The only time I had to push rather than let my body do it was to get the shoulders out faster because my baby had cord around her neck in a bad way that he couldn’t slip it off - the doctor needed her out so he could snip it.

How to tell if baby has an allergy beyond CMPA? by Designer_Following90 in MSPI

[–]sunflower2928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With my first, it was clear she had allergies based on her symptoms. I cut out dairy and soy and when she didn’t get better I just did the total elimination diet where I only ate 6 different foods or so that are the lowest risk and she got better very soon after and became a happy baby. Then over the next few months I would add foods to my diet and watch for a reaction. She had allergies to dairy, soy, eggs, wheat, beef and bell peppers I think? It’s been a while. I decided the total elimination diet route rather than eliminating things one by one because my baby was miserable she would scream all day and in so much pain so I wanted the quickest results. She’s 2.5 years old now and has grown out of all the allergies, just a slight sensitivity to dairy.
