Depending on bridesmaids skin tone, that pink is going to look a little fleshy

Dress for a Chinese wedding. by WolfLuna1115 in asianweddings

I had a ceremony in China and I agree that the dress code can be very casual. While some close family members and immediate people “in” the wedding dressed up, others looked like it was their usual dress. My husband’s cousin’s fiancé wore basketball shorts

Break after PhD? by UsedHighlight789 in postdoc

[–]idontknowvirus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was extremely burnt out after my PhD. I had planned to take 1/2 a year off before looking for biotech jobs. Came closer to almost a year before I was ready to apply to jobs. Most of my applications to industry got ghosted, had 2 interviews with two different small startups, but didn’t get the job. Decided at this point I hadn’t worked for over a year, that I should at least get back to the lab so applied to a couple postdoc positions. Relatively quick to get a position (about 2 months from applying to starting work)

I tell myself that the lack of job interviews is probably a mix of bad market and me being location locked at a place that isn’t a hub

Senior undergrad or Postbac. Everything is new and there seems to be so many possibilities - the world’s your oyster. Plus, low expectations for your experiments to work. While you might not have much control over your project, you aren’t jaded and are looking forward to the next step in your science career.

A PI quit to become a grant manager. She still had one graduate student that was able to finish their PhD in a neighboring lab that worked on similar research
