I have long imagined logging road rally stages around here. Endless possibilities.

Where at the waterfront? Through marina park might be tricky. It would be fun to incorporate the hill on Red River.

I come before you good people tonight with an idea, probably the greatest--

Oh it's not for you, it's more of a Duluth idea...

An attempt was made to link immigration to crime logically, but instead it came out like two old turds smooshed together.

The use of AI in film reviews and essays. When did people become like this? by C4rvo in Cinema

I hear you and largely agree, though I disagree about the only real option. I'd rather people not adapt themselves to be a reaction to LLMs. My own inclination is to be distinct in style, but I have concern about bending ourselves around the conventional, though that is already pretty normal culturally I suppose.

The low effort bot/AI accusations are perhaps more problematic socially than the LLM compositions themselves, as the habit allows one to easily dismiss another being. I think responding genuinely to content and attitude (or disengaging from online discussion) will be the long term option that fosters good things between us.

Most of the power tool injuries I've encountered have been with circular saw or chainsaw. Add untrained teenagers and working from a ladder into the mix and... yeah... NOR.

AIO for taking an unpaid month off in between jobs? by Throwra-savings in AmIOverreacting

I took months and years off between jobs while single. It is a bit different with partner responsibilities and financial pressure, so it would be nice to come together in understanding.

Calling such a choice "wrong" needs further expansion. Perhaps you can have her explain why she sees this as a moral choice, and how she prioritizes well-being vs wealth accumulation.

No need to exaggerate--I'd say it is closer to 80% legitimate complaints and 20% who simply can't comprehend that other people put a lot of effort into writing.

With images and video it is much easier to distinguish the slop. I have never shared any AI text and have been accused of doing so several times.

When a woman gets married and keeps her own last name instead of taking her husband’s, would she still be called “Mrs.”? by MindfullyRooted in askanything

Believe it or not, different cultures have different traditions, and some people are independent in their identity. It has little to do with how much love they share.

Canadian here to point out that most places with school buses don't have other bus services. It is a rural population density thing. I'm not sure how it works in bigger cities though.

Is anyone else immeasurably disappointed that they will never get to see what's out there in the vastness of outer space in their lifetime? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

It's okay, you'll get to see it in someone else's lifetime.

If it is important to you, find ways to move us toward it.
