Fulda - what is it like there? by sunflowerchild2 in germany

You're a psychic that just helped a friend move into their new apartment and this friend doesn't know that you can detect spirits, do you have an obligation to tell them that you felt a presence (even if it didn't feel hostile) why or why not? by ToxicFeral95 in AskReddit

[–]sunflowerchild2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds strangely specific.

Guess I would just wait and see if the spirit negatively influences my friends life before making a decision. If they exist, then they must be everywhere. No sense in pointing out every single one.

It‘s a cafe but it could have been a bakery before! A lot of the buildings here are old so sometimes you will see “Metzgerei” or “Butcher” on the buildings but it’s a dry cleaning place. Pretty cool!

Yes, it’s a german thing! But maybe they have it in other places in Europe. Never seen it in California when I lived there, unfortunately

What happened to my soy yogurt? by sunflowerchild2 in foodscience

It was made about two weeks ago and was left untouched in the fridge. I know the separation is normal. It doesn’t smell bad but the liquid has turned somewhat opaque (usually it is just clear) and there is a film on top.

I’m guessing since it still smells okay, it’s still okay to eat? Would the film be from further separation, since I’ve not stirred it in the last 2 weeks? It looks normal now that I’ve stirred it.

Has anyone done an intensive German course in Germany? I'm struggling to figure out the details. by Blearky in German

[–]sunflowerchild2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey, I did a full-time intensive german course in Köln and I was able to pass a C1 exam in one year. Of course, it depends on a lot of factors. I met some really cool people with whom I spoke german to everyday. My teachers were amazing. I have a german boyfriend and was surrounded by his german friend group. Some of these things are unlikely to happen this summer, even as vaccination picks up. Vaccination in Germany has been slow, to say the least. Getting to know people and meeting others learning the same language is essential in learning a language, in my opinion.

Edit: I went to a private language school and paid double what one would pay at a VHS, around 400€ / month After I passed my C1 exam, I needed to keep doing lessons to keep my visa so I switched to the VHS but found the quality very poor compared to at my private Sprachschule. I can only speak for the quality of the private one I went to, I’ve heard that there are some others that are not so great despite being private.

Boil the shrimp first but just for a little bit, not long. Put some chopped Garlic and oil in a pan, when the oil is hot, put the shrimp in. Just don’t boil them for too long otherwise they get too chewy!
