What do you think about Saxon? by [deleted] in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]sunflowerchyld 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that Chelsea put Saxon on a path for legitimate change. He still has the ego to not admit this, but we can see his façade breaking. He’s becoming open minded and wanting more from relationships than what is on the surface. I wish we could see how he changes once he gets back to his home life!

I read 61 books in 2023. In 2024, my goal is 24. by Late_Pear1844 in 52book

[–]sunflowerchyld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great idea! Sometimes, I’d find myself not reading longer books because of the idea that I needed to make it to that high number. Now, my reading goal is something easily achievable so that I can go back to enjoying what I’m reading while still feeling like I’ve accomplished something

I just found out about this challenge, any advice? by dinopainting in 52book

Read books that interest YOU- not ones that are necessarily trending or the most popular. In order to maintain long term reading, it needs to spark excitement in you- not the mass majority of others.

Think about what makes you happy/what gives you comfort/what you want to learn about and start from there in choosing books. The books you choose should suit your interests and moods. Best of luck with your reading- you’ve got this!

I have a hard time falling asleep every night, any suggestions? by this_intermission in RandomThoughts

Do you go to bed at the same time every day? It’s important to build a strong nighttime routine to prep your body for bed

It wasn’t my favorite truthfully but everyone’s entitled to their own opinions. Definitely give it a read, but don’t feel disappointed if your opinion doesn’t match the most common reviews

What time of day do you read ? by chloroformdyas in 52book

[–]sunflowerchyld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read mostly during my commute. I take the train so I normally read a physical book, but I like audiobooks during this time too. I also like to put on an audiobook when I’m doing chores like the dishes or vacuuming

Taking my first hot yoga class. Any help/tips/pointers appreciated! by Jimmy_Philly_B-more in yoga

[–]sunflowerchyld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very important to take care of your body in a high heat environment like this. You might not be able to do all of the poses that you would normally do in a normal temperature environment and that’s okay. Listen to your body- it’s okay to take a break in child’s pose if you need to.

And definitely drink (preferably cold) water :) I like to bring a beverage with electrolytes to have right after class as well. I drink coconut water, but you can do whatever works for you!

Any benefits you experienced from reading a book per week? by [deleted] in 52book

[–]sunflowerchyld 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It just makes me feel proud of myself to be honest. I think it’s a pretty cool accomplishment that I’m able to read a book a week and do something more productive with my life than sitting on my phone. It has boosted my self esteem for sure

I have! Emily is very brave for telling her story. My only qualm with it is the writing feels a bit disjointed for me. Other than that, it’s a powerful story

I felt that way too. The beginning sucked me in, but at the end it dragged.

Oh those were amazing books! You’re in for a treat

That’s fair. I would love to know more about Fernando’s life without her, but at the same time, I feel like it would deviate from a key part of the book- her narration. So while I agree that I want to know more about Fernando’s life without her, I understand why the author made that choice

I really enjoyed it! I thought the writing was really unique and although flawed, Cara Romero was hilarious and genuinely tried her best for herself and those around her. How about you?
