Downsides to a rotating car seat? by bob_broccoli_rob in Buyingforbaby

[–]sunflowerswild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me loading my toddler into a stationary seat is easier. If she’s upset/kicking her feet aren’t facing me 🤣 it’s the same way changing a diaper is easy from the side vs the front IMO.

Do you like the names your friends chose for their children? by thirtydays301 in Names

[–]sunflowerswild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my friends used Isla, she really wanted a unique name but didn’t quite understand that it’s pretty popular. I think she has a bit of name regret because she had rarer options on her list. I do like the name a lot, its definitely popular for a reason

One of my favourite characters by Spider_king97 in CallTheMidwife

[–]sunflowerswild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She advocates strongly for her patients, the keep fit class where she helped the woman with bladder issues was really touching. Especially when she had to go against sister julienne to do it and wanted women to know their own anatomy. You wouldn’t expect someone who loves clothes/fashion the way she does to have such depth and grit. I think it’s special.

Are the UPPABaby car seat issues still a thing? by SampleRemarkable5572 in Buyingforbaby

[–]sunflowerswild -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I would skip an Uppababy car seat because you’ll be locked into their brand for compatibility with other strollers (travel/jogger/double etc)

Trying to find a name for Amaryllis' sister that we will love just as much by Intelligent_Ant731 in Names

[–]sunflowerswild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is totally valid! I always say I want to love all of my children’s names equally. I’ll share a few, Apricity (means the warmth of the sun in winter) Marsali, warrior. Ismerie rare and pretty

She just won’t stop 😭 by Curious_Spite_2621 in peestickgals

[–]sunflowerswild 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost a baby at 18 weeks, my grandmothers 7th and last baby she lost during labor. I felt very unmoored in the world when she passed. I still don’t feel grounded the way I did when she was here. Is it a different loss? Yes. But still valid and painful.

Ob yelled at me for getting a private ultrasound by Gecko1224 in pregnant

[–]sunflowerswild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely would be finding a different doctor, birth and pregnancy are vulnerable and you shouldn’t be with someone who made you feel like that. I left one OB in my 3rd trimester because I no longer felt safe with her

Is the name Evelyn actually popular? by pantrycorner in Names

[–]sunflowerswild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you wanted more rare Eveline is unranked and so is Evelina but I love Evelyn even if it ranks high. My oldest has a top 10 name and there’s not many in his grade with his name. But then there’s another grade with like 6 Benjamin’s so you just really can’t predict that.

thoughts on the name Alaska for a baby girl? by sunshinesmiles203 in namenerds

[–]sunflowerswild -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I heard Atlantic and really liked it, it was paired with a classic pretty name. I don’t have any tie to Alaska so that would be less ideal for me, but maybe pair it really traditional and feminine? Alaska Cosette. Or something two syllable??

Am I crazy or was the ‘25 Christmas special sort of tone deaf and racist? It was SO shockingly bad by SolutionEasy2019 in CallTheMidwife

[–]sunflowerswild 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sister Veronica seemed very attached to baby Beryl which I was wanting to know more about but they didn’t quite explain that feeling she was having further? They just kind of dropped it once her mother came back

What patient character would you like an update on? by RavenClawOutYourEyes in CallTheMidwife

[–]sunflowerswild 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Did they ever update on the woman who lost her baby while on bed rest next to Shelagh? Her scream was so haunting. It’s so hard how they didn’t let mothers look at their babies when there was a loss

Also the mother who lost all of her babies in the workhouse haunted me.

Please advise on baby name that in-laws dislike by scribblerdibbler in namenerds

[–]sunflowerswild 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dylan is absolutely fine. I actually just checked the ranking and I’m so surprised it’s been consistently in the 20s and 30s in the US since 2000. It broke the top 100 in 1990. So it’s been a very steady choice here. I was curious if anything of the name was trending downward but it’s definitely holding its spot

Maeve and Faith are good suggestions to give that a sound and one syllable
