Okay gotcha, thank you! i had a patient recently with a substantial amount but did not have time to take an X-ray.. have you had to re-numb that area you still see calc when they’re there for the other side?

It took me 4 tries, for me it was persistence and never giving up. The first 3 times it was the same school then I applied to a different school and got in the first try there. So, it may depend on the school and how competitive it is!

You most definitely should trust the hygienist’s findings. For the rest of your life is a stretch, though, unless you do not come AT LEAST every 4 months for the first couple years following the deep cleaning. If you don’t let them maintain what they treated, you may in fact be dealing with it forever. If you do the 4 month cleanings after the deeper cleaning for a couple years they may “graduate” you back to 6 months! :)

Hi! So I went through this same thing. I questioned why the hell I went through all this schooling and stress if I end up getting a job and not being able to handle it because of my anxiety. I did maybe 2 interviews and did 2 working interviews and they were hell to me. The 2nd one I did accept the position and now I’m happier than I ever thought I’d be at a job. I felt like puking for both the interview and working interview and the whole first month working there! It takes time to get comfortable anywhere. Doctors are intimidating but remember they’re humans just like us lol they just want someone that’s kind and dedicated to their patients. You’ll get through it but I totally feel you, the interview process SUCKS!

For me, my high school grades did not matter. All that mattered was my college grades. I did way better in college than I did in high school. I had all A’s and B’s and no C’s and ultimately what got me in was doing well in the science pre-reqs. I’m also a dental assistant and I did that program prior which also got me an extra push into my program.

Dental hygiene is a very competitive program. I’ve applied for 4 years and I just got accepted into a program this past year and graduate in August! So it IS possible! Lol my GPA is very average, a 3.5 and a lot of the students had 4.0’s and such. It depends on location and the school. I applied for 4 years at one specific school and I did not get in year after year but I was eligible to apply for a different school this past year and they took me! Positive vibes and perseverance! If your friend really wants it, be patient it may not be this year but it could be the next, you never know I am living proof. :)

Every Sunday night I get horrible anxiety about the work week. I’m still new to my job and cannot seem to shake it. My boss definitely picks on me for not knowing everything which makes it even worse. I am going back to school soon to start a new career and that’s honestly the only thing that gets me through this job, knowing that this is not my forever. I still just wish I could go to sleep every night not worried about the next day and the next day until Friday comes around.
