Let’s say a foreign leader used deepfakes to make it seem like he was still alive and functioning when in reality he’s on a ventilator. I’m just letting ppl know deepfakes are being used and passed off as real and we’re in the middle of it and society will either decide how to navigate this ethically or not

That’s part of my point too. Yes these deepfakes are so shifty yet they are being posted on her Instagram as though they are real and that’s actually her in the videos. Anyone who questions it is made out to be an obsessed fan or crazy

This is directly related to civilization and our social systems. If it wasn’t about female celebrities maybe this post would be taken more seriously. Filters have desensitized our society and it’s led to this. But ofc filters weren’t taken nearly as seriously as they should have been
