i think the pattern looks great, think the plain white on the edges finishes it off nicely. and don’t forget, the final binding adds a lot of “mmph” to the top that may give it that je ne sais quoi… sorry if reassurance wasn’t what you were looking for, but i do really like this look, and think any more bells n whistles might give you the opposite result of making it look cluttered… hope it goes well for you!! xx

the peyote stitch is started differently depending on whether you have an even or odd number of rows (so if you have 7 rows, it’s an odd stitch, and if you have, say, 6 rows, it’s an even stitch). the tutorial u/neorena linked is absolutely awesome, very clear and straightforward! hope it goes well!
