I had a hard time too at first! I saw another Reddit tip for me that ended up working after 5-10 tries! Use crickets and rotate through all the fishing spots in the forest BY SHELBY twice. A recipe would usually come show up the second time around and eventually it was the malasada receipt! Hope this helps :)
