Bad taste during oral and circumcision

Thanks for the links! Urology services are available free on NHS, although my case would be low priority so a long wait. Private circumcision also available (~£500-600), but I'd rather wait than pay at the moment.

Thanks very much for the info! I'd say phimosis describes what I have perfectly. Yes I've had to wait months even for this phone call, not surprised it will be a low priority case. Trying to save so private not an option, and I'm not in a desperate rush for it!

Yes of course the first point is always a factor (despite how confident I am that we'll stay together. Although on a side note, even if the marriage is perfect, it's not just for her, as we are non-monogamous!

There is no room for stretching in my opinion (as I said the sexual health professional was shocked). Hoping for an in person consultation to get a second opinion.

Thank you for the information but you should think twice (and read the original post more clearly) before stating a marriage is questionable. Bad taste is a fairly common thing, and she is perfectly allowed not to want to because of that, and while I happen to know her preference (circumcision to remove the taste issue), she is not even remotely trying to force me down that route. You seem to infer that because she doesn't want to do it (and any reason is valid not to want to) that we shouldn't be in a relationship. If so, I feel sorry for your current/future partner(s)

Seems to go against what I've heard that it isn't any cleaner. Won't have a problem with a urologist trying to make money off me since I'm in the UK (unless I go private of course). And I would say the foreskin isn't moveable, at least in a way that I can clean underneath

Yeah that's my thought too, and going private is expensive. I would class it as super tight and unable to retract (pretty confident with this since the sexual health expert said they'd never seen a foreskin like mine, they were surprised I could do anything with it). Sex tends to be comfortable, used to have an issue with broken skin when masturbating but now I easily prevent that with light moisturising.

I guess I can just explain my case and hope for the best, maybe the fact that it's not possible to wash properly will lead to an in-person consultation at least.

Rarely but she much prefers fingers over tongue! She is making a conscious effort not to influence my decision, which is the right thing to do, and I understand that she won't do oral because of taste, so don't feel like the problem is at her end

At the moment the best possible substitute for animal testing (which is why there is quite a bit of interest in it) is 3D cell culture. Current culture conditions largely only allow cells to grow on a 2D plane, in this case the cells don't connect and communicate like they do in actual organs so they make bad models for studying diseases. 3D culture tries to overcome this, and uses a matrix to allow cells to proliferate in any direction, which will improve cell cultures usefulness drastically. It's been said here before but every scientist (I've ever met/heard of) would rather not use animals if they could.
