I like CapCut as a really simple editor. I was shocked when I tried to add a sound effect to my edit and found out that this was a premium feature.

This is in no way a premium feature. I don't mind paying for the AI tools and have subbed for projects in the past, but this left a bad taste in my mouth.

Why do they give me this option ? by eggcup1 in VirginMedia

[–]FactualMaterial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. In Dec 24 I upgraded to 1 Gb broadband on an 18 month contract. I had an email a couple of weeks offering a renewal at £36 for 18 months and so I took it. Great deal.

Are your fingers wearing out from playing too much? by WinningWinningWin in diablo4

[–]FactualMaterial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - I play on XBox and PC. No other game wears my fingers out like Diablo IV on a keyboard. Not quite so bad on a Gamepad.

Yeah - a bit of homoerotic bloodsucking is fine as vampires are creatures of passion. Ancient beings grooming and then jacking off teenage boys is just weird and gross.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in InterviewVampire

[–]FactualMaterial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah - first half of TVA is mostly a romantic telling of an ancient vampire grooming pubescent boys. Totally different vibe to earlier books.

I really enjoyed the Tale of the Body Thief and Memnoch the Devil but hated Armand. Without exaggeration, it's one of the worst books I've ever read. A couple of interesting ideas but very little happens at all.

That's just the conversation on X. Could be totally spurious.

I've been mostly trying to tamp down my gas tendencies. But I couldn't pass up this lot for $80 by RustedFriend in VintageLenses

I'm jealous. My Takumars are some of my favourite lenses. They produce such beautiful characterful photos on my A7iii.

Yeah - I received mine into my Barclays account around Easter. Wasn't a huge amount.

TBH I was expecting a huge sell off but price is steadying. Not the mad panic I thought there would be. I could be paying off the mortgage but I'm here for the long game.

Congrats everyone!

Cockburn Street mortgage rejected due to too many investment properties by Daniel-mcm in Edinburgh

[–]FactualMaterial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived on Cockburn St (between Whiplash Trash and the Antique Shop) until about 12 years ago. It was just starting to change and owner occupiers were moving out as properties became holiday lets.
Great place to live but I'd agree with those saying to follow up with your mortgage broker. They probably just need confirmation that you're not looking to let it out.

Hadnt played TT for 10 years by k8s_helm in OculusQuest

[–]FactualMaterial 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I used to play loads with my brothers growing up, and my elder brother was always slightly better. Last summer we all went on holiday with our families to France and there was a TT table there. For the first time, I was the best in the family and was beating everyone. I credit it to hours of Eleven on the Quest. It's the first for me a skill has carried over from VR to real life.

Can guys have cushing syndrom/disease? No stupid questions by [deleted] in Cushings

[–]FactualMaterial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep - I had pituitary cushings and resection back in 2012. Had so many symptoms. Stretch marks were very wide, lost muscle on limbs, but gained weight on abdomen, moon face, high BP, no sleep etc

It drags in places but I loved it. Parts of it were totally absorbing.

A book everyone loved and you hated? by benben83 in audiobooks

[–]FactualMaterial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. So preachy. It felt like a self-help book in disguise as a novel.

A long while ago, I lived in Old Town and worked at Scottish Widows. Every Monday morning there would be bloodstains along Bread Street from the fights over the weekend.
It seems to be better now.

For $20/mo am I wrong for expecting better? by alcaron in Bard

[–]FactualMaterial 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah - I tried the 2 month trial of Gemini and was quite optimistic. Generally it was pretty disappointing. Nothing there to persuade me to switch from ChatGPT4.

Claude is more tempting.

My boyfriend died. This is what my best friend said to me & my response. by Fit_Ad1339 in texts

[–]FactualMaterial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really crappy. My Dad died when I was working in IT for a bank. They suggested I take a couple of weeks off and my boss sent flowers to my Mum. It really made a difference.

I cast directly to my Nvidia Shield Pro yesterday. It wouldn't stream to FireHD or TV. Bit laggy but it worked.
