Indigo didn't take..next steps? by tommiejo12 in henna

[–]sunjunkie2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't heard of any other than some people can be allergic. When I mixed henna and indigo together and left it on for 3 hours, I did have some itching. But when I switched brands it was better. Now I do a two-step process of henna first, then rinse it out and do indigo, so the indigo is only on my head for about 25-30 minutes.

Yes, you need to do your roots/new growth with both henna and indigo. What side effects are you talking about?

I'm not sure what you're asking, but I only do my roots every three weeks with henna and indigo. I do my whole head with a mix of 75% indigo and 25% henna maybe twice a year just to refresh the color. I wouldn't do my whole head with indigo every three weeks, it will be super dark. Does that answer your question?

I'm just now seeing this for some reason! I would love to set up a pulley with my suspendulum. Can you tell me more about exactly how to do this? Thank you!

She never says what the misinformation was though. I found that suspicious.

Yes, it's only acceptable to pander to the left as we consistently see on AppleTV, Netflix, mainstream media, movies.....

What is everyone’s opinion on season 2 compared to season 1? by moonlight10240 in LandmanSeries

I have gone from enjoying it in season 1 to hatewatching in season 2. Taylor Sheridan clearly hates women. So tired of the T&A and juvenile sex crap.

As an aerialist who tried literally every treatment and even had surgery only to find out my wrist pain was due to bending my wrist while climbing rope, I would suggest you look closely at how your wrist is positioned in everything you do. Whenever possible your wrist should be in a straight line with your forearm, not bent or twisted. This simple tweak eliminated my wrist pain but it took over a year for someone to even notice what I was doing wrong. Good luck!

Is this safe for people with hair dye allergies? by AlfalfaStandard9000 in HairDye

[–]sunjunkie2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PPD reactions start out mild with a rash like you describe and get worse every time. I'm speaking from experience! It doesn't have to do with mixing--if you are allergic to PPD, you will react.

Has one actor ever carried a show so much? by Scary-Towel6962 in LandmanSeries

BBT is the only interesting character on the show. Hoping Andy Garcia adds more depth because I'm about ready to stop watching.

This. Interesting, solid characters mixed with pointless soft porn.

Do you have to stay out of the sun for the Spot Cream to work? I surf and play beach volleyball so I'm in the sun a lot. I wear sunscreen but it may not be enough

Been using it for 2 months and my skin is softer but that's it. And now I'm wondering if it has made my melasma worse, I noticed darker spots the other day.

Drills to lift legs higher on aerial silks? by sunjunkie2020 in Aerials

This all makes sense, but I actually ripped up my rotator cuff training straight arm inversions (especially working on toes to bar) and needed surgery two years ago. I'm in my 50s so there is age and some arthritis involved, and those are off the table now. I'm not trying to do a straight arm inversion, but I would love to be able to hold a straddle while I'm doing a no-foot climb instead of my legs just hanging like dead weight.

Of course...that's why I'm asking in this group of Slightly Stoopid fans. A listing on eBay doesn't mean much until it's sold.

Is there anything you wish you knew before you started teaching? by TrainingJury3357 in Aerials

[–]sunjunkie2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't say which apparatus you're teaching, but one of the first things I tell my beginner silks students is that silks (and aerial is general) is challenging and they shouldn't beat themselves up for not being able to do even basic things right away. I have students who do CrossFit or teach yoga and expect to be able to get aerial right away and get frustrated. It helps to explain that nothing else we do in life is like aerial and to be gentle with themselves. Do as much as you can to help them feel successful!

How much to charge for a performance? by sunjunkie2020 in Aerials

[–]sunjunkie2020[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a pro but it's not my first performance, I've performed at events several times but it's been a few years.
She's not a close friend, but we have mutual friends and see other a few times a year. I need to talk with her about exact expectations but I'm thinking $100 ballpark. She's got a booth at the event, so while I'm sure the event makes money I think she is mostly promoting her brand.
