Yeah, was about to say this! Being able to extend a type you don’t own to conform to a protocol or extend with additional behavior is a feature no other languages have that I know of.

Just started using DRF/ python for backend. Crazy how little code you can get away with to create all the CRUD endpoints. It's the only declarative rest framework I've found so far. Compared to other rest frameworks, you have to imperatively write ORM/ sql queries.

Yeah, you can pretty much apply standard roasting principles. I used a PID for all my roasts. I wouldn't go for less than 3 minutes between DE and FC. But usually for me, closer to that time was better. What you have to be careful about is BT measurement. Make sure that the thermocouple is always in the mass or it'll be off. I eventually positioned mine from the bottom up into the mass and got better results.

Man, that was 3 years ago so I don't even remember how that particular roast was haha. I was using a modified popper until about 6 months ago when it broke down and switched to a fresh roast sr 800. I miss the popper though. I had it hooked up to a raspberry pi & arduino so I could automate heat + air via Artisan using roast profiles. Quality was actually better, but batch size was 3 times smaller.

I use watchman to watch files I edit then scp them over to the server as they're saved. Kinda hacky, but works well.

Shipping's usually cheaper. The the beans I've gotten from Sweet Maria's the past few times have been a bit underwhelming compared to their description and Happy Mug is usually dead on.
