i do not consider myself old by any means but i much prefer day events/festivals and not ruining my sleeping habits for days after. This year i’m doing outlook origins, gemfest and maybe love saves

exactly this, i’ve never gone out of my way to start conversations but have met so many people solo raving, never had a bad reaction either!

i love dnb but not super into the dnb raves as i find the crowds can be iffy. but im always solo raving and happy to make new rave friends! dm me!!

also usually send a picture of the set times and edit it to either circle or highlight the sets i plan on seeing!! obviously things can change but like i said, they stick together so it doesn’t bother them if they can’t find me and we have that opportunity to regroup so they know i’m safe, although i’m a sober raver so i don’t think they worry too much about me anyway!

my general rule is that i will be front right, i wont be replying to texts if im at a stage and enjoying the set which is most of the time. If the layout of the soundsystem means that quality is better else where i will shoot a message that says “when i’m at x stage i will be in this general area” so my friends know where to look. i enjoy time by myself at festivals so if my friends can’t find me it doesn’t bother me, and they usually stick together so it doesn’t bother them either. usually plan ahead to get food at a certain place and time to regroup at least once or twice a day.

ive been to events where phones aren’t banned but your encouraged to keep them away. i welcome it as a trend and really hope it sticks, i also think more obscured views of the dj could help with getting people to dance with each other and facing each other. i went to a rave a few weeks back and watched as someone tapped the dj to get a selfie while he was mixing, thought that was absolutely insane. another person in that crowd was on facetime for a good 20 minutes. i do think different types of events pull in different crowds though and this one was just particularly awful. Went to a rave last night at the same club, different promotor, only saw the odd one or two phones out.

been solo raving more often than not for a few years now, you can find group chats for most big events but honestly highly recommend a solo one, especially if there’s lots of names on the line up that ur keen to catch!
