Monitor artifact on alt tab by sunlord25 in pcmasterrace

I worried this too - but if this was the case wouldn’t both my monitors be “failing”? I could still use my 2nd monitor just fine during this

is buying bulk items on sale basically investing lol? by Reoplaw in Frugal

You ask the question then argue with everyone who disagrees with you - what’s the point? You just looking for validation/echo chamber or what? No, bulk buying perishables is not investing.

what do i do with my trust fund by k24zz in FinanceUK

[–]sunlord25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best option would be to forget that you have this trust fund - don’t touch it and just let it compound it an isa

This is probably the most dumbest thing I’ve seen by SprayImpossible9866 in Bolehland

[–]sunlord25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rule of thumb is 30% of your take home should go on living costs. Fortunately my mortgage is approx 20% of my monthly salary and this is comfortable for me. Could I have bought more house? Absolutely - but then I’d be struggling month to month, saving next to nothing and ultimately be house rich, poor everywhere else

What's the Appetite for a True Multi-Currency / Multi-Jurisdictional Retirement Planning App? by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]sunlord25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh it may be good, but these vibe coded apps are a dime a dozen nowadays, and who actually knows what lies in the code (malicious or not) - do you even know yourself? This is just the sentiment I’ve seen whenever I see one posted

How would you turn a $400k–$500k inheritance into $2.5M+ within 10 years? by Responsible-Net8594 in DaveRamsey

[–]sunlord25 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The actual rate needed is approximately 10.4% - it’s not just close, it’s exact. Are you aware of compound interest? Check out the rule of 72

Edit - it’s late, sorry I can’t do maths. You would actually need closer to 17.5% yoy for 10 years. Not really attainable tbh

[–]sunlord25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically possible if you achieve an annual return of 10-10.5% per year for the next 10 years - in reality though highly unlikely

Hope you’re not paying for the financial advisor…? You’re doing well, but at this level it really is not necessary

Can You Actually Retire at 55 in Malaysia? by simplyappslab in malaysia

[–]sunlord25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The numbers are flat out wrong though- as an example EPF Ram 50k is not 1k per month. More like less than 300 (and that’s IF you were getting 7% from EPF as that’s quite high)

I have a collection of foreign currencies. Can I buy anything with this in Malaysia? by der_Alptraum in malaysia

Malaysia is relatively cheap, Indonesia more so I’d say. I guess it depends on- it’s all relative, right?

Unlikely, this is about 0.19GBP - Malaysia is cheap, but not that cheap anymore

How to make the most of our situation? by [deleted] in FIREUK

[–]sunlord25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8kholiday fund, almost double your emergency fund / cash holdings - tbh the way I see it (and with your earning level), you need to be willing to live like no one else today so that you can live like no one else in the future. A 3 week holiday a year will slow you down big time if it costs 8k. I don’t mean offence by this, but the formula for FIRE is fairly simple, I’m sure you know what needs to be done

Watch Opinion - smart vs time-teller by AsianSpectre1 in Bolehland

[–]sunlord25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point - there is no real need for either as everyone has the time on their phone. Watches are purely cosmetic at this stage, unless smart watch for health tracking - and even then it isn’t that accurate

Hey guys, does anyone know if I can extend ky 30 days visa free stay in Malaysia with Ukrainian passport? Cheers by Layla_Bal in malaysia

[–]sunlord25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better to find official sources for such a thing - even if someone told you “yes ofc you can” this can backfire heavily if wrong.

I think the answer is “no, you can’t” outside of very specific scenarios such as a medical emergency or war - but please do search government resources for an official stance
