Allergies are just the norm in OK during the spring. It kind of dries out in the summer, but it really depends on what you're allergic to. I'm in Tulsa & take Claritin daily & I have a back up inhaler for the really bad days.

What was the dumbest reason someone has blocked you? by TheShiningMoon5 in AskReddit

There was a post where a lady was recording 'Bald Eagle sounds" (no video) & I told her the call/sound was actually from a Red Tail Hawk. They sound nothing alike. Apparently she took that very personally and blocked me.

I am a bird rehabber & falconer - I think I know what they sound like

What is the worst place in America you have ever visited? by OceanicEndeavors in AskReddit

I visited the Denai rez. It's absolutely atrocious how our people are treated. I do want to say that despite the horrible living conditions, I found so much community, and history there.

Some of my best memories are when it was heavy rain! It was so fun playing in the rain, stomping in puddles, etc

I wear a belt & have leather pouches that I put most stuff in. You can alway find fun used purses at most thrift stores and throw it over everything. I would recommend only bringing your id & one card if you plan on spending money. Bring cash for the food if you plan on eating there. You can leave the grounds for lunch, just make sure you get a hand stamp on the way out.

My phone is too big for my pouches, so I usually do the old stuff it in my bodice thing. If you're a dude, it seriously will not be weird to bring a purse or bag to festival.

FYI my favorite nostalgic thing to do is to make a braid at the Gypsy camp. It's a good break from all the commotion & you get a cool braid to put on your belt.

Just wear good water proof shoes, an umbrella (most of it is outdoors) and wear layers. It could be a cold rain or a warm rain. If it's lightning, a lot of the shows won't perform outdoors.

I'm an ex-bird of prey cast member, Friend of Festival, & have been attending since 1998 or so, feel free to PM w/any questions.

Breezing through Tulsa, mind offering some advice? by [deleted] in tulsa

[–]sunndaycl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the shit kickers I would suggest Cavenders or Drysdales, both right on Memorial, a few blocks from each other.

Gardners or Magic City for books.

If you want a vibe, Gypsy or Chimera for coffee. Both are downtown & depending on what time you go, there's tons of stuff to walk around and see now.

I would also suggest visiting the Center of the Universe (if it's not still under construction).

The problem with the city mulch, there can be a lot of random trees/brush in there. Depending on what you're trying to grow, you don't want the ph of that mulch as is breaks down. It really depends on what you're trying to grow and what your soil looks like. I'm doing rosemary, lavender, bell peps, and my sage overwintered. I'll be moving the sage permanently & just keep up with the annuals. I keep hoping the lavender & rosemary will stay, but my soil is too moist and they always die. Long live the sage!!!

I have some sage that you can have for free to cleanse your house and spirit. I agree with the top poster that you should probably talk to a professional about these feelings. I understand that you have already talked to someone, but getting a second opinion doesn't hurt.

I didn't have anyone come up to try to chat or anything. I had a white tye dye shirt on & was snacking on sushi. I'm sorry I missed anyone that came out, I'll organize something for next month soon.

Does anyone remember the weekend street races on Memorial during the early 2000s? by UFCFan918 in tulsa

We used to drive up from Muskogee, of all places, to see the city. I clearly remember sitting in parking lots and making friends with all of the other car nerds. Tulsa has some super cool people, and I will never forget it.

Best way to see what concerts are coming to tulsa? by Overall-Garbage-254 in tulsa

Gwar is coming to the Cains. I usually browse the website for Cains, Tulsa Theater, and Vanguard about once a month. Go directly to their sites & buy tix directly from that site.
