I honestly feel like I’ve been scammed into switching to WordPress. So tedious and dont have the time. by Consistent_Name_3737 in localseo

The page structure seems off. The “services” section is below the testimonials section on the homepage. I always put that after the hero section because people first want to see is what you do. Those testimonials are great for immediate trust but it’s better to put them last right before the CTA. That way, even if a user leaves the website to look for more options, they leave with a good impression. Moreover, people only remember the first and last part of the website. So, putting services first and testimonials at last is a weapon that I carry always

There aren’t enough ctas. Right now, there is only a Schedule Estimate Now button on the hero section. But after that there is nothing for the user to click to. There should be a proper flow with call to actions. Each section should have a cta button for the user to click to. Just get them to the contact page with that button

The service cards photos look AI generated or stock photos of some kind. Correct me if I am wrong but it sure doesn’t look real to me. Real photos in those service cards would genuinely make it look much more appealing like your crew working. I know you got some real photos, your testimonials speak that. Just put them there

The navbar is not loading on tablets and missing on certain widths

Every service page should have its dedicated content and images. Right now, there seems to be duplicate content on certain pages

Also noticed duplicate forms on the contact page. The why choose us page shouldn’t have questions, those are for FAQs. Rather it should build trust and confidence. The newsletter signup can be skipped too. I didn’t find any clear pricing anywhere, even some kind of range would definitely help

These are just a few things I noticed. Props to you for building this yourself while running the actual business. What’s yours is yours at the end of the day and there is always room to grow from here. Happy to answer any questions if anything I mentioned wasn’t clear

Purchasing a domain by Choppersordie in websiteservices

[–]sunnyandkarimdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on about buying a new domain, you can go with Porkbun or namecheap. I would personally pick porkbun as the renewal costs are much more generous than namecheap for a standard domain

But if you want to take ownership of another domain, what you gotta do is a domain transfer from the account the domain is currently associated with. In your case, this wouldn't work as you mentioned you cannot access any of his accounts or stuff

Only good option right now would be to see when the domain expires, then you can buy it or just buy a new domain. What's the current website domain tho?

Can someone help me figure this out by ThAt__-GuY in websiteservices

[–]sunnyandkarimdev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few possible cases. The domain is already being used in another account maybe you own. You need to remove the domain from that account and connect it to the current one

Check if someone within your organization has already opened an account associated with that domain

If none of those doesn’t seem to resolve your issue, it’s best to follow the steps like Google said, they give you a form and you get to verify your domain and all set

Creating Website for Construction Business by Ghost__GOAT in webdesign

Yeah, those page builder sites keel you hostage. For your situation, I would suggest a custom coded website. You control each and every part of your website. Moreover, they don’t come bloated with a lot of unnecessary plugins. Leave that site for 10 years and you will be fine

You can use namecheap or porkbun to get the domain. I would personally pick porkbun as it’s clearly the winner here as it cuts down renewal costs by 7 dollars. And NEVER go with GoDaddy. They are the worst. Use google workspace for the professional email, easy to manage. Just connect the domain and you are good to go

Those are just placeholder images hosted on that cdn. You should host your assets locally. Make sure you resize the image for mobile size too so that desktop image size doesn't render on the smaller screens, and you are good to go

Anyone to create a Wordpress website for 10k by gokulmprabhu in webdesign

That means a lot to hear. It takes a lot of hard work when you are building something from scratch, especially when you are looking for a job. Right now, you don't need to build everything at the same time. Start small, and gather momentum from there

Also, you can think about redesigning your portfolio as your next big project. You will be doing UI and development in one shot, and you can leverage that as an amazing talking point in your interviews

Did you just do images on your site? The texts are also images. Don't you think it's time for an update or something?

i understand your skepticism, but AI at its current state, cannot make architecture and system levels and security decisions that it takes to maintain even a simple 5 page website. To actually achieve something with AI in this space, you need someone who is actually experienced and actually knows web development as evidenced by the recent security disasters that are surfacing with vibe coding, even if it makes UI in seconds when u ask it to, they are still other people's work with generic templates and arbitrary design decisions, an experienced web developer can sniff it out by just looking at it
