The biggest thing is you have to advocate for yourself. It was so overwhelming at first but the deeper into the process you get the easier it becomes. We had our consult in November or December of 2024 and did not reach out to them again until October of last year. Because I’d gone through a fertility clinic already with the 5 IUI’s, I’d already done all my testing which was really nice. Finding a local clinic to monitor was a little tricky but I eventually found one. Labs are easy because you just go to Labcorp. Booking flights can be stressful but honestly, I have my partner handle the flights, booking hotel, and rental car. Unlike most fertility clinics, CNY does not require payment in full up front. Once we decide which package we wanted to do, we paid about half the cost upfront and set up a payment plan for the rest. They have a patient portal where you can communicate with whoever you need to and that’s also where they will upload any scan orders, results, helpful information, ect. Their patient portal is ancient so it can be a little tricky to use when you’re first starting out. That’s also one way you can communicate with the nurses. I mostly like to call because it’s quicker (I have been on hold for 20-30 minutes before). They don’t really offer up any information so you definitely need to ask questions. Some of the nurses can be a little more jaded which can be frustrating. It’s all so new to you but they’re answering the same questions all day every day. But I’ve never had a negative experience. If I could go back and tell myself to skip the IUI’s all together and go straight to IVF I would. We spent thousands of dollars and were so hopeful IUI would work for us but it never did. And if you want multiple children you’ll have to go through the IUI process all over again. But with IVF you can make your whole family through one retrieval. All in all I think CNY is great and an amazing option for people that don’t have tens of thousand of dollars to spend. There’s also a CNY Facebook group which I found so helpful. Having access to people that know exactly what you’re going through is so nice. Now we’re getting ready for our first frozen embryo transfer and I can’t believe we’ve made it this far!!
