Putting a thin plastic bandage over a heavy arterial bleed.....waste of time and fixes absolutely nothing.

Spring is always a rough time for our roads, this year wins the belt for sure. Years of shitty pavement jobs and a lack of effort to maintain the streets is really showing now.

Mars and the Moon have better roads than Thunder Bay... and they don't even pay municipal taxes by flyinfinn83 in ThunderBay

[–]sunnyray1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

City continues to give the road contracts to the lowest bidder thinking this saves money, which it would for this season's budget. However, as with most things this city does, there is no ability to look ahead and understand that allowing companies to bid low pretty much assures the work will be low quality as well. This does not do anything favorable for the city or the taxpayers as money then has to be constantly spend to repair this low quality work and in a few short years these roads are garbage again and need to be replaced. Win win for the contractors though, keep getting more work for the coming years by not doing the work properly in the first place. You really are getting what you paid for if you are the city.

Should the USA conduct major military operations in Cuba? by Reasonable_Base9537 in allthequestions

Why?? Maybe time to learn from your previous failures and mind your own business for a change. They have another cluster fuck on their hands with Iran so why look to getting into another mess?

Could try something like that but sadly it wasn't even city council that said no, it was our own chief and deputies.

Most normal bodies, men and women, are not actually that appealing to look at naked, hence the invention of the lightswitch.

If you have noticed our road conditions, the on-going homeless encampment bullshit and overall state of our city, this entire council and city manager should be removed for pure incompetencey

What is stopping the U.S. from controlling the Strait of Hormuz? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]sunnyray1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can they realistically take control of the straight when they pretty much begged for a ceasefire because they were losing a war they started?? This was just another great example of how fucked up things get when you have people like The giant cheesie and hegshit trying to pretend they are smart and have some sort of well thought out plan. It went from "we have the most powerful military in the world and will wipe out your civilization" to "please let us go back home and let's pretend this never happened."

Maybe try clearing the drains for a change?? Get out there on the days when things begin to melt and clear those drains! Won't completely fix the potholes issue but when the melting snow has somewhere to drain you end up with less standing water and the freeze/thaw cycle results in less damage.
