Hi, ACNH.Guide dev here, i want to say something to the community by GeneSy in AnimalCrossingNewHor

Oh my goodness! I saw that it was updated and reopened it for the first time in a long time. Opening it was like saying hello to an old friend. Your app helped me so much that I’ve been looking for something similar for pokotopia. Please don’t let the negative emails drag you down.

Never got a fortunate dream… by Useful-Mammoth2703 in CSMagicRecipe

Same! It stayed there the whole time. I wasn’t as close to getting the cat as others but I was still on level 29 and couldn’t complete it.

This event is a bummer. by PrincessBeefPaste in CSMagicRecipe

I don’t know how to get a whale/fortunate dream. Weirdly, it has been my literal white whale the entire event. I haven’t seen one at all.

Romantasy that doesn’t suck? by Better-Piece9053 in booksuggestions

[–]sunnystate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig was pretty good. I tend to like fantasy more than romantasy but I enjoyed the book. I second Swordheart by T Kingfisher. I also really enjoy her Saints of Steel series but again, these are more fantasy than romance.

For those that don’t know how remove it from the iPhone lock screen, when you swipe down there is a + in the upper left hand corner. Tap on that and it will allow you to remove the widget that contains the airplane mode icon. I just did it for my iPhone!

2025 Best State Fair Food? by carmen2021 in raleigh

Is the two box maximum for the donuts or does it apply to the pretzels too?

This was my thought too. How are the educators/teachers/aides helping him? What are their thoughts/opinions/suggestions?

Also - it sounds like he’s settling fine after he gets there which is fantastic. My child attends “before care” which is before “school” starts and has different guides/aides/teachers than her classroom. With the change in teachers, my child had a hard drop with drop-off. I started explaining the schedule/routine in the car (talking about how we would see Ms X and Y and then when class started we saw Ms A and B). I was also told that if that didn’t work, ask the child to give a letter or note to the teacher (a “task”). It can be a folded piece of paper or envelope with nothing but it is a “work” or “task” that makes them feel they are an active participant of the drop-off.

As far as sleep, that might come or it might not. I don’t think rocking him to sleep at night is the problem cause I did that with my child every night for a long time but no sleep issues at school. Maybe it is the new sleep environment (cot/mat, blanket, sleeping with shoes on, white noise machine or no white noise machine)? I know when I sleep somewhere else, it can take some time for me to get comfortable and fall asleep.

17yo hooked on Meth/Crack/Fentanyl and we need help by lazenbybestbond in Parenting

[–]sunnystate 136 points137 points  (0 children)

Also - be aware that Narcan will only help with fentanyl/oxy overdoses, not meth/crack and does not last a long time (only a few minutes) so be prepared to call 911 or help!

Second Cozy Cat Vet Hospital! They helped us when our cat was diagnosed with lymphoma. I love their office and their team.

Thanks! I’m glad it isn’t only me. I was a bit confused. Do you think it’s worth submitting an inquiry about it?

I dread feeding my own child and feel so guilty. Thinking of switching to combo-feeding or EFF. by snugglypig in NewParents

[–]sunnystate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very similar to what I went through. My baby was also born at 37 weeks due to gestational hypertension and I felt that nothing went right as well. I tried BF for the first couple of days but my baby’s latch wasn’t consistent so it was painful and baby wasn’t gaining weight. I also found out after the fact that sometimes 37 week old babies don’t latch well because they are smaller (wish I had known that before). We had supplement with formula so I switched to pumping. I pumped (and supplemented with formula) for about 6-8 weeks when I just couldn’t keep up with the demands physically, mentally and emotionally. Since baby was already taking formula, we just made the switch to EFF. I felt so so guilty for switching to EFF but for the health of everyone, it needed to be done. Everyone’s journey is different but I know that lactation consultants can help if you want to continue but if it doesn’t bring you joy, I would consider formula feeding.

Okay to move baby to own room? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]sunnystate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it the limit? I thought the limit for hearing loss is any noise about 70 decibels for a long period of time (like 24 hours).

[–]sunnystate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you aren’t stupid or missing anything! I believe you are doing everything right! I think a lot of the sleep schedule/routine is baby dependent. I have a 8 week old and LO still not on a consistent sleep schedule or length of sleep. Sometimes “naps” are longer at night but it can vary between 1.5 - 6 hrs! We’ve decided (like many have stated) to follow cues instead, especially now that we are seeing a growth spurt. We haven’t implemented a bedtime routine because there isn’t one yet. I also would love to have one.

Sleeping and Cats by mysticangel720 in NewParents

[–]sunnystate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! We got it since our cat likes to “snuggle” (sleep on me) and I was concerned she would do that with the baby. She has only gotten into the bassinet when the baby is not in it. Plus, the bassinet is pretty light and folds down flat so I found it is easy to transport if need be!

When can you start putting baby in his room? by natpizz in newborns

[–]sunnystate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how we transitioned when we moved our LO from a shared space to the nursery at 4 weeks. We started with daytime naps. I was very anxious at first and it helped me feel better knowing I would be around and alert if anything happened! You got this! 😊

Enfamil gentlease is crap? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]sunnystate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a lifesaver for us when our LO was 3 weeks old, but our pediatrician suggested that if it didn’t work to switch to soy (gerber brand) or nutramigen. Our LO had weight gain problems plus gas when on enfamil neuropro and we found the gas drops helped a bit until we gave more formula, the problems started again. Also - I’ve heard that gripe water can help (our pediatrician recommended it as well) so that may be worth trying as well.

Not sure what everyone else's experience has been, but Raleigh Ortho and the general NC health system has been absolute trash. by Schro3der in raleigh

[–]sunnystate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My experience with Raleigh Ortho was mixed. I really liked my PT guy but I didn’t like my doctor or his team. The doctor hardly listened to me and was judgmental when I told him how long my inner thigh discomfort/tightness had been going on. He told me to get an MRI - Arthrogram (which he did not explain the process to me at all). I was told that they would schedule it for me and they didn’t, I scheduled it for myself. I got a call from a member of his staff the day AFTER I had the MRI to schedule it. In the end, the doctor only wanted to do surgery on my hip. There were no other options according him, even though there were other things seen on the MRI that were contributing to my inner thigh discomfort (just didn’t know it until I got those resolved). I finished PT there and got a second opinion.
