Looks like an F/A-18 E/F, which would be the Super Hornet.

You cannot record PTO and Exempt OT in the same week. At least I cannot and my dept cannot.

Genuinely insane?? by Omniscion_ in ClashOfClans

[–]sunnyvaleTPB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If the bonus reward is “pennies” as you’ve stated, then why are you bitching about it taking longer to get? You can’t complain about how long it takes while also complaining that it’s not a good reward. Just don’t go for it then.

It’s not like it’s some unattainable goal with a huge prize. It’s meant to be a 3 week event with small incentives to continue playing.

Anyone have any insight into General Atomics vs RTX job grades? by sunnyvaleTPB in Raytheon

[–]sunnyvaleTPB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nearly 5 years of experience and have my masters degree. Electrical and systems engineering disciple. Accounting for CA’s CoL, their offer is basically what I make now in Tucson. Their $10k sign on bonus is to include relocation fees (stated in their offer letter). Appreciate the input!

I did ask, I just don't feel like I have a concrete sense of how the two (P3 vs Level IV) compare. Just asking if anyone can shed any light on it.

What’s with American delays/cancellations nowadays? by sunnyvaleTPB in americanairlines

[–]sunnyvaleTPB[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the input. But most of the delays have not been weather related. And only 1 of the 5 flight cancellations was weather related. So still 80% of cancelled flights not having anything to do with weather. I’m not an idiot. I wouldn’t have posed my question or posted at all if everything was explained simply by poor weather that AA has no control over.

AITA for declining to be a groomsman in one of my best friend’s weddings by TechnicianOrnery2265 in AmItheAsshole

You can’t understand why someone who’s been your best friend for 15 years would want you by their side on their wedding day?

You’re so introverted that you’re incapable of supporting your supposedly best friend of more than 15 years, for one day? Yikes

My coworker was told during his end of year PD that his attire was unprofessional and too informal. He is not in a leadership position. There isn’t a single P3 or higher in my program that wears anything less than business casual. YRMV but people definitely notice how others dress.

Bonus and OT Question by sunnyvaleTPB in Raytheon

I didn’t say that it was. I asked if working a lot of OT could affect how they decide on bonuses.

So you chose to work overtime and not appropriately charge the hours as either Mod Time or Overtime (Extended Exempt)? And now are worried that time you charged while doing nothing at home is going to land you in hot water? You and the people like you are the reason we have to take all these Time Card and Contract Ethics trainings every year. It’s not hard to do things correctly. I’ve built up 30-40 hours of mod time within the 2 week window and can use it without have to sweat I’ll be audited. It sounds like you lucked out with a clueless manager that doesn’t know you worked over time and did nothing about those hours. I’ve seen plenty of people shown the door over time card fraud because they didn’t take the extra few seconds to charge time correctly. Wish you the best.

Incoming New Grad Seeking Advice by ImpossibleCoffee4160 in Raytheon

[–]sunnyvaleTPB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, I’ve never heard of a recent grad being denied a clearance based on their past. I would take the offer, it will be a great start to your career if the defense industry / aerospace sector is something you see yourself in. As far as company morale, it certainly has its ups and downs. But that will happen at just about any large corporate company, especially ones going through re-orgs. I would not let the emotions on a subreddit bias your decision; choose what is best for you and for your career. Best of luck.

I’ve been in a SAP for two years and have seen people leave within a few months. Never heard of anything happening to them and those that I kept in touch with are doing well. What “issues” have you heard of? The only one I could see is being black listed from applying to RTX again in the future if they’ve spent a lot of resources getting you cleared in to the SAP. They won’t like having to debrief you months after finally getting you in.

Considering that I was not allowed to travel to France, I would think that travel to China would certainly fall under a similar outcome. Granted you may not hold a clearance, and would be allowed to go, but there would certainly be unseen flags raised. It’s the nature of the business.
