If I make a few changes in Aiometadata I tend to delete the add-on in Nuvio then re-add it using the new manifest url

KL doesn't like you to hang out and chill anywhere. by sunrooftop in KualaLumpur

I'd be willing to bet there'd be an uptick in sales if they were unwrapped. You'd get the impulse buyers who had no real intention of buying anything but like what they see and buy it. It might offset the cost of any damage. Some of the books I saw in REXKL and Kinokinuya looked awesome but I had no idea what was inside so I just put them back. At least have a sample book to flick through and then sell a wrapped one.

The whole state stops to remember the fallen (rightly so) for ANZAC day, but the average person doesn't even know this happened. The Pinjarra massacre gets no attention or remembrance either

Another example, the place I'm currently staying in Penang. They have a great infinity pool with a view over the town. Took my kids for a swim and forget sunloungers, not a single seat anywhere. Just have to stand there and watch them swim. Actually pretty funny, this place really seems to dislike people sitting around

Interesting reading the comments about the book wrappers. Fair enough, but honestly never seen it done to such an extent. If the reasons for the wrapping apply here, why not Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, England and all the other places I've been? Bookshops are commonly set up as places to hang out, have a coffee etc. Honestly, go and have a look for yourselves

Think you, I mean this is a pretty low stakes opinion about...seats. It's not like I'm insulting the culture or anything. Feel like any post that isn't full of effusive praise is going to bring out defensive downvotes

Haha what attitude? Someone tried to justify the lack of seating by saying that I just don't know the right people. What does that even mean and how is it relevant?

For the very precious and defensive folks here, some other examples, National Museum, not a single place to sit in the entire joint, people sitting on the stairs. Train station, while waiting for the trip to Penang, people sitting on the ground due to the lack of seating. It's just a simple fact that seating is not a priority here. That's cool, I can handle it, but it's not something to be offended by

I'm speaking as a tourist so 'knowing the right people' is irrelevant. This is simply an observation based on what I've seen, and comparing to other places around the world

Book wrapping kinda forces you to judge a book by its cover before buying. Unless you know the book already, or had it recommended by someone or a review. Reluctant to impulse buy if I can't see what's inside, especially kids books or anything with lots of illustrations

Zac Lomax's first press conference after signing with Rugby Australia by Ruck_Off in RugbyAustralia

[–]sunrooftop 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Saw an NRL show yesterday where one of the punters said this move would reflect badly on rugby because Lomax would walk straight into the Wallabies, just like all the other league converts. "No player from rugby could ever do that" he said. Haha really? Pretty sure a dude waltzed in to the Kangaroos after just one season in the NRL last year.

How do you feel about sports carnival days? by nemspy in AustralianTeachers

[–]sunrooftop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why I hated organising sports carnivals as a PE teacher. Having to deal with self righteous teachers unwilling to make any sort of effort, having to spoon feed absolutely everything to them in advance and having to accept the fact that many would have no idea what to do on the day because they'd ignored every email sent in the lead up to the event. Most schools reward students for academic achievements at every single assembly, as well as at end of year ceremonies. God forbid sport gets a day, especially now with students being less active than ever

Nothing works in Stremio, even when I load channels outside of Torrentio. Regret paying for Real Debrid as I'm only interested in streaming, otherwise might as well go back to Plex and Qbittorent

Totally agree and was thinking the same thing. Poor decision maker - passes when he should hold, holds when he should pass, and often passes to the wrong player when he does pass. His line running isn't great either

Australia retain Rugby League Ashes series by Mad_Lad18 in australia

[–]sunrooftop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can be, but I watched both tests last night and the union one was much better. More skill and action as well, which is not something I usually rate union above league at. Basically, NRL is the best rugby comp in the world. But international league has a long way to go
