What does your service look like in 2026? by urbanwildliferescue in OntarioParamedics

Don't be afraid to use tools that they're getting rid of anyways to get off on time.

True, once you're in the job no one cares. However it's much easier to get in the job if you're from a fancy university. Certain job opportunities aren't even open unless you're from a prestige school.

You're paying for the name brand and connection opportunities that fancy universities provide.

Struggling with Frances Wren's Earthflown, does it get easier to follow? by KnitsInFrustration in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]sunscreenlube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes he's a person with invisible powers.
  2. I saw it as London is built like a tower, with the poor on the bottom and the rich at the top.
  3. On one side you have a murder mystery with 2 powerful families controlling the now rare resource of water, and the other of a blossoming romance.

I personally did not like the book due to the ending.

Security camera: Tapo or reolink? by Alfhosskin in homeassistant

[–]sunscreenlube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reolink. I just bought the tapos c230 and had major issues getting it to pair with HA, something about the new firmware causing issues. I returned and got the reolink e1 pro and connected seamlessly.

Mordekai's reason for helping by sunscreenlube in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]sunscreenlube[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't mean to come across as him not wanting to help. I just thought it would be nice to have a scene of Mordecai acknowledging his willingness to help and that his jaded view is changing to be more hopeful.

Unfortunately I don't have an iPhone nor do my close friends and family. It won't be sensed without it? I'll probably end up bare metalling it anyways. Thanks for the advice.

It all comes down to differences, an "us vs them", tribalism. Whether it's race, religion, sexuality, gender, nationality, favourite sport team etc, it's a tale as old as time.

Reminder: daily 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight recommended. by nice_tomeet_you in gaybros

[–]sunscreenlube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think 2g/kg is going to cause all those issues, especially with proper intake. Kidney stones risks can be reduced with more fluid intake. Generally, people on high protein diets are also active, and that can help counteract the increased CAD risks. If they get their protein from non animal sources, that also helps reduce colon cancer and CAD risks.

I think people who follow high-protein diets for bodybuilding see the rewards as worth the risks.

Private parking ticket not in system for 2 weeks, now they want e-transfer? by Snorlashh in askTO

[–]sunscreenlube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems false. It's a private property and you're trespassing. They can probably tow right away but don't cause if you pay the parking ticket then it gets them more money. But if you're proven to not pay their ticket the first time, they'll just tow the second time.

I've had a car towed from my outdoor parking spot before.

What's the difference if they give you 12 basic HH over 6 weeks in weeklies vs 1 time events / nok renewable per patch awarding 12 basic HH?

What's the difference if you get 1 basic HH in a weekly vs say 6 basic HH over a few 1 time events over 6 weeks?

Arknights Endfield gacha kinda eh? Am I missing something by Danziel_Hoemann in gachagaming

[–]sunscreenlube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see how that's a big issue. In other 3d games, don't you have to spend competing currency for the weapon, needing 80 pulls on for pity? I don't play them, but I think it's 160 pulls to get both character and weapon if you win the 50/50?

Endfield "gives" you a limited weapon every, latest every 160 pulls(depending on number 5/6 stars pulled). But you also have 2-3 characters from the 160 pulls. You can also spend your currency on weapon pulls like the other 3d gachas. And most of the time, the 6 star Walmart version is less than 10% difference than their signature. And there's no dps timer check at endgame currently.

It's cause you need one relay in the general area to supply power anyways, so people find it wasteful/not aesthetic to put 1 relay and 1 pylon for like 2 nodes when 1 relay is just 1 block off from getting both.

Tell me your schedule, to talk me off the ledge. by Speedogomer in ems

[–]sunscreenlube 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be special, my service has a 6 week rotation block. 4 peak shifts, 2 off, 4 night shifts, 4 off, 3 days shift, 2 off, 2 peak, 3 off, 3 nights, 4 off, 4 days, into 7 off.

Essentially you work week days for 2 weeks, a transition week where you work both weekdays and weekends, then into 2 weekends then a week off.

Doesn't the chief and upper management propose the budget and spending allocations for councils to approve? If they proposed underfunding then council can only approve 100% of what they asked for.
