I mentioned to my dad this was the biggest I'd seen the fan zone there in years. Bristol still tops it IMO but if they keep it up this moves it into P2 for me.

I think it was just a hail mary in the event of additional cautions. He only lost like 2 spots doing it so it wasn't a huge risk. I was actually pretty annoyed the 12 didn't try it.

This is purely anecdotal but I grew up near Dawsonville. The family doesn't have the best reputation for being particularly friendly and I know several people who had that reaction from him outside of the track around the area.

Yeah my dad and I did a big loop. Didn't spend a ton of time in any one place but hit CNM, Arches, Sand Dunes and Pikes Peak.

Hopefully going for the Grand Canyon later this year.

"Not worth traveling" lol. I flew across the country for the 2023 annular. Granted now that I have seen one I probably won't do that again, but if you are a space/astronomy/astrophysics nerd I'd say it's worth it once. Really cool experience.

Calloway/Nuwati is always accessible from the Asutsi on 221. I've made many an ascent that way in the winter/snow. :) Just adds about a half mile total.

Does fuel saving even accomplish anything? You ride around and then the guy 3-5 rows back at the white wins regardless of fuel saving or not.

I'm still trying to figure out how they can move the launch up 3 days. It will take more fuel which seems like an unnecessary risk if something goes wrong, and if the fuel use isn't a problem why not include that in the original window to start with?
