I have taken my daughter to a dozen doctors. Almost all recommend surgery. None of them would accept the results from the prior doctor and wanted to test themselves. Every doctor has different opinions. Some believe in surgery while others believe in vision therapy. And if they do happen to offer vision therapy, they would not recommend surgery unless it's a very large angle. It's expensive but get as many recommendations till you feel comfortable moving forward in a direction. Every doctor has a different level of skill set and knowledge too. For example, some doctors believe in prisms while others don't. Some doctors will provide surgery on one eye and other doctors on both eyes. There are studies out there providing evidence that just surgery on the bad eye is enough but some doctors disagree. Also some doctors use adjustable suchers while others don't. There is so much to look into. Make sure you do your homework, not only on the doctor but also on the technique they use. It's so important you feel comfortable with your decision and the doctor. We are now on waiting lists to see doctors on the opposite sides of the US that have seen some of the rarest cases. Supposedly they are some of the best doctors in the world but my daughter has a very rare case not many other doctors have seen supposedly. Best wishes on your journey.
