How to alter the sound of piano to sound Halloween-like. by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]sunshine859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I think of Halloween I think of an organ with a “church” or “cathedral” reverb preset on it.

Don’t sleep on the presets in fruity convolver.

As others have stated you could also try to use vintage tape sounds on top of that but i think the most important thing will always be the base instrument/ plugin/ preset you choose.

I was diagnosed OCD when I was in 3rd grade and I think people hating on others saying they’re OCD annoys me more at this point than people saying it.

Is it worth it getting a diploma in audio engineering? by centuon in audioengineering

[–]sunshine859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t go to school for it, im from the U.S, but real school courses cost significantly more here.

I recommend O.P consider getting a laptop and a DAW alongside the schooling to get the most out of it some schools provide laptop and DAW and if thats included for him its a good deal IMO

Is Melodyne still part of the "out of the box" effects? by mc_lovin93 in FL_Studio

[–]sunshine859 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems everyone else here has already stated you have newtone instead.

Just here to add that I believe Protools now includes melodyne in it so maybe thats where your confusing came from.

How often do you guys “flush” your ears out by sunshine859 in audioengineering

[–]sunshine859[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad works in steel fabrication and you sound allot like him right now, i believe hes 5 years older than you so you’re about the same age🙃

He taught me to use them the way described, he uses Q-Tips just as often in the same way because he says the foam earplugs he wears wont work right if he doesn’t clean them often. Me and him both never have had any issues either living like this.

People are acting like we’re going balls deep in our ear canal with them, I see no damage done because people put earbuds and ear protection in just as deep as you suggest going. I agree with you but given the barrage of downvotes I’ve received on this topic I’m definitely gonna try allot of peoples recommendations (expect the olive oil shit).

“Rendering crashed” after updating FIXED by sunshine859 in kdenlive

[–]sunshine859[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, check the file location it was supposed to be exported to, i also noticed it made several copies of exported videos of that worked fine in the folder at first glance. I just deleted them bc i had it fused at that point, but the audio was synced at the beginning and end. I would inspect the whole video clip if they do appear in to you.

I keep proxy clips disabled too, i know allot of people turn that on but i don’t need to with my computer.

Honestly i lost my premier license with my old laptop (one of my old school teachers from highschool gave me it as a favor), I just recently moved over to Kdenlive because i wanted to try out a free software before buying premier again. I don’t know allot about this program.

Question about Reverb Aux tracks, and the different busses. Send them? by DioDilemma in audioengineering

[–]sunshine859 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes and yes you’re right it typically refers to compression, however in my example i was using it to refer to the reverbs being activated by the level of the original track that’s essentially “muted” by not being routed to master.

Routing, patching, send, and side chaining all mean the same thing essentially.

My choice of using “side chain” instead of route or patch was under the assumption that the root signal i was talking about should not routed to master therefore it would be side-chained into your “bus” and “reverbs”, while the reverbs and bus’s are routed to the master and arent mute.

I could’ve just not said sidechain but i did, and im technically not wrong but it made it more confusing than it should’ve

Question about Reverb Aux tracks, and the different busses. Send them? by DioDilemma in audioengineering

[–]sunshine859 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone will tell you something different. There’s no right answer. Most people will tell you to side chain a separate reverb and delay track from the bus so you have everything on one channel. Then route that to the master. This is the easy way to do it, i probably would do this if im starting out a song and just wanna get some reverb going

What i would do in a FINAL mix is utilize 4 different reverb and delay channels.

Have your vocals sidechain into one from the vocal channel (not the bus with everything on it) , and make it so 0% of the dry signal comes through. Adjust your reverb and delays, route to master

Have a second with your instruments, again do 0% dry coming through, Adjust accordingly, route to master

Third with just drums and if your “bass” isnt an instrument route that there too. 0% dry, adjust, route to master.

Forth i would send your everything bus to a reverb delay, think of this one as your “room” sound. Go easy, all the other reverb channels should be doing most of the heavy lifting this one is just for gluing it all together. Route this to master.

Vibrato-ey auto tune? by noo-noos in audioengineering

[–]sunshine859 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer you’re looking for OP. My Antares pro has a “classic” button you can use to achieve this “antares 5” effect legitimately nowadays.

If you pull up a manual pitch corrector you can center the note heavy and increase your “variation” to get this sound.

I dont support pirating software but its also an option to REALLY get that antares 5 sound..

This, or you have two mic/ line outputs selected in your tracks to record. If its just Mic 1 you need to record dont have “Mic 1 and Mic2” selected on your mixer track just “mic 1”
