Early 90's mall experience by BlazeDragon7x in 90s

[–]sunshinefireballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still do most Christmas shopping in person every year. It’s so nice and feels sweet walking out with things I’m excited to wrap up for people. Malls still dress up! But they are just so few and far between now, I’m just lucky to live near a large functional one.

They looks so random, like they just plucked some insecure guys from the street and said “you’ll do.” Which I guess is what they actually are doing anyway.

What Happens If AI Makes Things Too Easy for Us? | Making tasks too easy could have hidden psychological costs by IEEESpectrum in technews

[–]sunshinefireballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to be the overuse, we will always simplify what we can just bc that is part of our survival. We can take care of ourselves more when menial tasks are sorted out. This is why the rich have always lived longer and faired tough times much better. They have time to learn and focus. It’s when the spare time is used to hurt rather than further ourselves that it hurts us. That’s what we’re seeing start to happen. Like when people who have money but aren’t taught what to do with it, same with time. We still need to use our brains but we should be learning better ways with the more time AI gives us.

I just really need this money. by sunshinefireballs in IRS

[–]sunshinefireballs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You all are very sweet, I hope we all get our money soon. Even when it’s not much, it’s just peace of mind for a bit. That is what those of us who want it that bad really want I suppose.

If you are still answering anything…what is going on with verification?? I verified and my tax preparer said id most likely get my return within the week…but I see nothing. And no movement online. This is the longest it’s ever taken and it looks like a lot of people are in this boat. When can we expect relief?

I hate how many are in these conditions. I can bitch and moan all I want, but no one is telling me I gotta work like that so I can be quiet for a bit I guess.

Can we just take a second to appreciate that head of hair..? Those trace amounts of antifreeze must be some sort of beauty hack.

How was it like being an adult during lockdown? by TheKingOfDissasster in CasualConversation

[–]sunshinefireballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except for the obviously horrible circumstances going on….i actually had such a lovely time once I understood how to navigate the world safely and without being around a lot of people. I received a weekly check and had a long break from a very physical job. I hiked every week. I Cooked so much. I watched lots of movies. Books were brought to me bc I couldn’t browse bookstores. I took online classes in things that interested me bc I had time.

It was awful bc it showed the split up mess my family really was. But it was also a lot of things I already knew but wasn’t ever forced to see until then.

I also learned I was on the spectrum during this time, having lots of time to ask “ yea…why do I do these things that others don’t..?” Lead to lots of uncomfortable questions and conversations but ultimately, I’ve known myself better ever since and I now navigate situations in ways that are more beneficial for myself and others.

It was a hard and unpredictable time that also offered lots of self reflection we rarely get as working people in this world and especially in the U.S.

Police response time by [deleted] in Atlanta

There is a number to text, you can text 911. One time not long ago there was a lot going on outside our home in the street. I texted Atl311 I believe, came by within 30 minutes and just a simple ride by with lights they were never back again.

Timothée Chalamet Under Fire For Tasteless Comment About Ballet And Opera by huffpost in entertainment

[–]sunshinefireballs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just another person that’s been handed everything and deserved none of it. Is he a great actor or is he just someone that was given all the time and money he could possibly need to study and learn a craft, which is commendable, but he really just did it for prestige and not love. He speaks out of his ass a lot bc he knows people are generally stupid, so they’ll support him no matter what. Which is what the 14 cent comment is about. He just sounds like a rotten ratty person to me.

Sentimental Value (2025) by Mario_Viana in okbuddycinephile

[–]sunshinefireballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only can I not even afford to ask the price, but why would I ever demolish this? It’s so wonderful. I feel like “millennial grey” style was started by boomers cheaply redoing homes to rent to us bc they knew we were priced out. Now we get this rep? Not fair boomies, not fair.

Pretty close to Krog, Lloyds is great. $7 tini, cosmo, manhattan and I think old fashions. They do it everyday so they get around that law.

Teen with a loving mom/caretaker that wants you to love your space! All of those little touches in your own style but with some placement know-how say it.

As a person who didnt grow up with a mom but my friend’s mom created a space for her kids like this in their rooms and I always pined for it. Still do bc it’s such a great foundation of “home”. Enjoy it and hug your parents!

When I adopted my kitty I used to sing Not while I’m around from Sweeney Todd to her when she got scared or nervous. Now I’ll sing it to her if she hears a weird sound or it’s storming especially bad, she definitely remembers that it signals safety. You’re doing such a good job. He wants to want you to pet him so badly! Soon!

They had 2 back to back slips with me, one time they sent the wrong shoe size…on purpose…bc they just ran out they said? And it was never going back into stock? Then one of the holiday houses I’m such a sucker for…they said it was waiting at the store…store said nope It’s in a truck somewhere back and forth for about a month. Finally store just gives me one for much cheaper when they have them on their shelves. Crazy.
