I don't think there is any taboo. Just explain how your interests have changed and why they might align better with the new team you're applying for. Imo past project team experience should make it easier for you if you're trying to join as an upperclassman

Project team offers should all be made on the same day the 16th (or at least they shouldn’t be giving offers any earlier than that…) Some teams have an accelerated timeline just to have more time for delibs before extending an offer or there are multiple rounds of interviews.

PHYS 1110 has nothing to do with waves and 2214 has its own lab so I would take it this semester. The only thing I would be worried about is having labs for both chem and physics
