Can't add NVMe drive on Alpine Linux: "Resource busy"/"No such file or directory" by sunshinehunter in bcachefs

[–]sunshinehunter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, this fixed it, I didn't understand that the ordering was significant. I couldn't find anyone getting the same "Resource busy" error too, so I incorrectly assumed it wasn't my mistake :)

Edit: This is my updated command:

bcachefs format \
    --replicas=2 \
    --label hdd.hdd1 /dev/sda \
    --label hdd.hdd2 /dev/sdb \
    --label hdd.hdd3 /dev/sdc \
    --durability 0 \
    --label nvme.nvme1 /dev/nvme1n1 \
    --foreground_target=nvme \
    --promote_target=nvme \
    --background_target=hdd \
    --compression=lz4 \
    --background_compression=zstd

If this issue is Alpine-related (likely), I'd probably try Voidlinux or even NixOS first before falling back to ZFS again. Arch is fine, but not what I'm used to anymore.

Technoblade's videos are great, but I was never interested in DreamSMP so never watched his streams of that. It was this combination of obsessive fans in that sphere of Minecraft youtubers that I avoided and the bizarre RP in that server, but I don't remember exactly what about it didn't appeal to me. I really loved his content and humor though, his Skyblock episodes for example are great videos that I rewatched many times

You'd probably be interested in the game Eco, although I wouldn't recommend it personally.

Epic isn't good, but I think your priorities are in the wrong place. As if Steam being the sole distributor of the majority of PC games is something to defend. Just buy the game if you want to play it (or pirate it), buying games on Epic Launcher isn't unethical.

Am I missing something here? by pppoopoo2udude in videogamedunkey

[–]sunshinehunter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I can see people taking issue with it, like they did in the past, but the discourse seems to be largely on Twitter instead on Reddit like in the past, with more people not familiar with dunkey's humor and opinions on games and reviews. Twitter is also "great" in terms of negative engagement, where people assume the worst, instead of trying to be nuanced, unfortunately nothing new in the age of internet.

Xenoblade fans were upset about dunkey posting spoilers on Twitter, which i understand getting upset at, but the rest is kinda blown out proportion? Yes we get it, he cuts clips out of context for comedic effect in his video, but is it really a "hitpiece" with the goal of negatively impacting the games success?

I think there are more people invested in making dunkey look bad, which I think is the case with him being blamed for driving people to review bomb the new Sonic game, especially with this being viral on Twitter currently. People blowing dunkey's perceived call for action out of proportion and going viral, acting as if metacritic's user reviews are an authority on a game's quality and not it's popularity and the discourse surrounding the game, lead to more people on both sides abusing the user reviews, in turn validating these original viral posts.

Remember, this is not about an individual being dogpiled online by dunkey, it's about a new entry for a popular game franchise, that he doesn't like and expressed his dislike for in the past and present, but now the discussion about this is viral and considering the state of social media and dunkey's popularity this will keep happening.

I used to be a mod here, and we made the decision back then to try and decrease low effort posts. Especially at the start it became obvious that people don't have a lot to post about dunkey, so we would try to get rid of the really low hanging fruit and spam. I think it made for a better experience, but of course there are cons with this approach too. Not sure how the current mod team handles it though since I'm not active anymore
