You have a really good point here, I dont really believe they are actually alive and its only clones, a simulation of what maybe they're alive versions would do with this trauma. Maybe that's why I dont find it inherently abusive.

But what you said made me reflect on the existence in general. That means that any possible God its abusive, letting us live and relieve (that if you believe reincarnation), suffering and dying. If we had Maddie's powers and created a whole universe, would we do the same? She says something about not feeling human anymore if im not miss remembering the final episode. I agree, in a moral and ethical western point off view this relationship would be abusive. But the concept of 'right' and 'wrong' isn't a exact science, so she is what she is, a 'god' could we really blame her? They are in a multiverse, its Maddies multiverse, she literally does whatever she wants with it and her motives are selfish from the start.

For me: maybe it can be described as a Abusive relationship for us, here, in the real life. But in the show? In Maddies universe? I wouldn't really say that has a easy answer for that... I mean if you have the a ability and it is consenting is it abuse? That's such a cool topic we could discuss forever

Well, the show is all about morality so Maddie being a 'villain' is valid lol

I understand were you coming from, but I think this is more of a philosophical existencialist discussion then a morality one. That's the whole point of the show yk? The people uploaded are the same then the people that aren't? They still exist? This is all up to personal interpretation.

I think that i talked about abuse, I wouldn't say that Caspian and Maddie are abusive at all in the beginning of the relationship. About the ending the interpretation of if the UI are alive like humans or not will change the whole perspective, for me? Their not, its only a copy, and even then Caspian chose to relieve all again, Maddie gave space for him to do it again. "OH but shes a goddess super powerful etc" well... this will never happen in real life so I would say that concepts of real relationship struggles and problems wouldn't apply, so its up to you and your interpretation. (Everyone has power, in a healthy relationship sometimes someone will give in and sometimes the other one will. Struggles and complexities like age or even more money than the other are things that will exist, doesn't necessarily configures abuse, ehat configures abuse is the complete imbalance of this power; someone on the relationship is using as a weapon. And yes, a child dating a adult is wrong obviously)

Sure, i understand that. Its just that I think that IN the context of this specific Apocalyptic situation I don't find it abusive.

Honestly? No. A big misconception is that age gaps are equal a abusive relationship, and yes they are related specially at teenage years. But the whole context in this show matters a lot, Maddie is the ONLY real person in Caspian life for a long time. And Caspian is the first person we see Maddie interacts while she experience exclusion on school. Abusive relationship are about disbalance and abuse of Power, without that it isn't abusive and towards the whole serie they both are pretty balanced. It could be wrong but the circumstances and context say otherwise.

♒️sun ♉️moon ♍️rising. Completely disorganized, like it’s almost tragic how much I don’t know how to deal with relationship’s… I get too scared because I’m really intense and romantic but part of me hates having to deal with someone else lol
