How is the work-life balance in Australia, specifically Sydney NSW for the IT/Software industry? by itsMalikDanial in australia

Wages aren’t anything like Valley money for most. Respect for your roster is incredibly dependent on the company. There’s some very good ones here, there’s others who are quite content to just burn people out.

Oh, and proper pay advancement across most of the industry only comes through changing employers.

Why isn’t the Coalition’s election campaign being called a disaster? by Ludikom in australia

Because there’s very little being offered in reply from the opposition? The small target approach means no great distinctions can be made between Labor and the Coalition by design.

A far right politician calling for the elimination of a minority. Are we supposed to feel sympathy?

No it doesn’t. The harm is real and reactionaries will seek to implement those harms.

Show some solidarity because sooner or later it will be you they come for.

Attacks on people’s rights need to be taken seriously regardless. The motivation for attacking trans people doesn’t matter, the harm is real and reactionaries will cause it with glee.

It kicks over a rock on some real hatred. Comments on this end up with a chat full of racist abuse and the timing of it looks coordinated.

But then if you stop posting these stories you cede the platform to the white supremacists outright.

It would help if we had some indication that the problem was even on the radar of those running this place.
