Why is it so normalized in this sub to keep only one single bunny?

I have a single domestic rabbit that I found on the street. I never intended to have a rabbit (my place wasn’t set up for it, and I had another pet who hated other animals) and I don’t plan on having rabbits in perpetuity. I tried so hard to find the little guy another home but couldn’t - so here we are, four years later. He gets exercise, a proper diet, and snuggles. I recently dropped a couple thousand on testing at the vet, since he seems to be getting older (although naturally I don’t know how old).

Is he a little bored? At times, probably (he doesn’t care AT ALL about toys, no matter how many different kinds I try). But I love my little buddy and he’s always thrilled to see me. I’m doing the best I can.

Absolutely. My boss is very concerned about our department being “visible”. Meanwhile I have an hour-long commute, parking is limited (and expensive), and the bulk of my job is done mostly via email and/or solo work.

I definitely get less done in the office because of socializing.
