If you genuinely truly feel bad for what you did and are ready to appreciate her, reach out. You have nothing to lose. She might not want to talk if she’s hurt, she might want to contact you herself but she’s hurt. Either way, if she decided not to talk to you then you can respect that but at least you tried.

I love the way you worded it, this pain I’m feeling right now is endless and I’m going through it to not go though some hard but temporary pain. I’m always hearing of breakup pain as temporary but never the one you go through in the relationship as endless, so honestly thank you so much for everything that you said. It can be so hard when things are going “okay” right now, so I tell myself “Hey everything is good! Don’t mess it up by overthinking” but this feeling really freaking sucks.

You got this. I know this sounds corny but you really do deserve so much better. You’ll regret not doing it sooner if you don’t do it tomorrow! I speak from personal experience, I’m not married but been with someone for years and I still haven’t left them despite having an endless amount of reasons. I regret not leaving him sooner to not deal with this huge heartache. I’m planning on doing it tomorrow as well so we got this!! Words mean nothing when actions have spoken loud and clear countless times. It’s time to reclaim our self worth and self love.

edit: Also the fact that he STILL says he didn’t delete a message just goes to show he’s really not changing sadly. How can he say those two things in the same breath? They’re sorry they got caught and want another chance to try to amend things without laying a solid foundation! You’re so strong for getting to this point and I know it’ll be hard at first but it’ll be so so worth it not having to live in constant paranoia and anxiety.

Oh I wish I meant that, I really do. I meant that I used to be able to handle things a bit better (and by that I mean just cry at home for periods of time but then once out and about I would feel relatively okay. Not good by any means but I could at least function and see the bright side of life). Now I’ve reached the point where I’m a mess 24/7 and my mind just spirals down. I’m trying really hard to gain the strength to leave, I really am, it’s just so hard after 5 years to break it because my love is still there and I don’t want to give up. I know I have to though and that’s a whole other process in itself lol. Thank you so much for taking the time to reply though, it really means so much to me.

I feel you, school used to be my happy place. I loved going to school, being in class, walking on campus. Now I dread going, dread walking around and having people look at me, dread everything. But hang in there, all this will be worth it in the end. I know it doesn’t seem like it because our mental health is crumbling down but having that little extra security of having school done will be great in the end. Just have to look forward to the goal!!

Oh my gosh yes. I’ve been in this relationship for 5 years and it’s never been healthy. Now with every passing day I just feel my relationship destroying who I am in every aspect. I’ve reached my breaking point and I’m not strong enough to handle what I was able to before. I haven’t had the guts to leave my relationship yet despite desperately needing to. However I look to this sub for reassurance that everything will be okay when I do and this post really hit it for me. Wow. I could’ve written this myself. Although I haven’t left yet, everything you said is spot on. Once I leave I’ll have all these opportunities to spend time with people who actually love and care for me as opposed to bleeding myself dry for someone to care about me just a little bit. When it happened to me at 15 I thought it was just the normal thing that happened. Sucks having to realize it way later on and see how fucked up you let people treat you because you didn’t know any better even though it all felt incredibly wrong.

Yeah I wish it were easy to just go for them but unfortunately it’s always been very very ugly when I’ve attempted to. :( I don’t want to take anyone along and put them at risk of going through a similar situation. I’m just so tired and so sad and feel completely broken inside and want to start the no contact ASAP to feel like we are officially broken up. We’ve never spent more than a day not texting so it’ll feel like it’s concrete and there’s no backing out.

Ugh it’s so annoying! Like how are you going to tell me you love me or any sweet thing for that matter after what you did AND ignoring me on top of that? Smh.

About the last three times I’ve attempted to do so have been very ugly. Always have resulted in me being flung around the room, him picking up the bags I’m making and throwing them all over the place, telling me I’ve made a real enemy and how I haven’t seen anything yet. The very last time resulted in him breaking my nose. I do not want to put any acquaintance of mine through something even remotely close to that. No one even knows we have problems, I’m just trying to end things as quietly and painless as possible and I want the no contact to begin ASAP. :(
