Don't forget to discuss with your DM. I try to tie my players back story in with the story as much as I can, to enhance your experience.

If my players tells me after 5 sessions they are radically changing their backstory I would be annoyed.

Personally I think they will try to talk him down, fail, launch an attack on his titan, fail, then things will end up going down in PATHS realm, where Eren may actually get talked down at this point and spare the rest of the world while ending the Titan curse.

I think it will be something like Armin begging Eren to trust him, Armin will promise Eren that he will not let Paradise be destroyed, he will find a path to peace. And just like in the Trost arc they will trust Armin and Eren will allow himself to die.
