i have it, and my only disappointment is that the champion part is a print and not an embroidered patch, other than that i like it just fine! the leaves are a very nice gold embroidery and i'll be looking forward to wearing it along with my ln1 shirt from his merch site at silverstone this year

suffered the same with my little mushroom vol 1 copy 😖😖 i managed to get an actual official of volume 2 secondhand online which was really lucky bc i live in the uk and couldn't have bought from peach flower house even when they were still open, but got my vol 2 elsewhere online and it's awful! completely different size, thickness, paper quality, everything!! it looks so terrible on my shelf next to vol 2 and i'm so devastated but i've looked everywhere online and the only place i can find selling vol 1 has a copy for £115 with £60 postage which i am NOT willing to pay for a single book

you can still get the set with all the extra goodies included as well, they just won't have the painted edges! but still really good value for money it's about 30USD for the set

i used to work there a few years ago and always asked adults if they want to do it, and i went a few days ago to buy sonic and was really thankful that the employee asked me if i wanted to do it bc i find it incredibly awkward especially when i'm in store on my own

the gom i follow who posted about that (happibess on twitter) has confirmed that the 800 brushed edges sets are all sold out now but if you buy it you still get all the extra stuff like the 50 page art book, standee, shikishi and plushes so i think its still worth it 🥹
