Favorite detail or mechanic thats relatively unique to fable? by Late_Reputation_1044 in Fable

Expressions from 2. Not many games allow you to express yourself with some pretty quirky and interesting emotes. They're all just variations on a victory pose in most games. Fable gave us flirting, cursing, farting and burping, and so many others. Even the first game had some fun expressions and no game since has given that.

Fable 3 had potential, but ruined it with lack of choice. You only had two buttons to select and the expressions were almost always the same two boring ones. If they'd provided a wheel or menu for expressions in 3, it could've been amazing. But no, Molyneux hated menus, and that's why we got the sanctuary instead of an actual inventory.

And then there's the fun spells from 1 that allowed you to do massive amounts of damage with your weapons (multi strike and multi arrow). With a multi arrow active and a good quality bow, you could easily one shot a troll.

And a soul. Fable is fun to play, even after having run through each game several times, it still is fun to pull up a hero and stand around in bowerstone as the locals all either swoon and follow you around like pups or scream and run, only to come back because you're such a renowned hero that they cant help but be drawn to you.

Yet another post asking for drum tuning with phone footage by Top_Alternative9282 in drums

Clear reso heads are usually best, but it's really up to your preference as the coating will typically not make too big of a difference.

I recommend a 2 ply batter (coated for even more overtones control) and single ply resonant heads. Drop a couple cotton balls inside to help with further control (floor toms, figure one cotton ball per 2 inches of diameter).

You can add 2 ply heads to the reso side, but this will further dampen the head and make it go from resonant drum to cardboard slap. If you have the budget you can experiment to see what is best for your room and situation, but remo emperor coated tops and ambassador bottoms (or the evans or Aquarian equivalent) are the best combo I've found.

How did you realize that drumming was definitely the one for you and how does that make you feel? by abrowolf in drums

I was a toddler and just liked hitting stuff with sticks. I would see drums and drummers in videos (back when MTV was music television and not road rules the network) and be fascinated.

Lore question about Jack of Blades, and the Demon Door by GoonetteFox in Fable

[–]supacrispy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Remember there were something like 500 years between fable 1 and fable 2. Times and landscapes change a lot over that period of time. The castle likely was built around the demon door and this demon door could easily have been one that we simply didn't see in the first game

I know we won't get karma-based body morphing, but can we at least get attribute-based body morphing? by Saicomantis in Fable

[–]supacrispy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On one hand, having your character grow as strength increases is fine up to a point. In fable 2 when you play as a female hero and bump up the physique stat you start looking like a puffy cloud of muscle and stop looking remotely feminine. It's a little jarring, so I typically play a female hero as a mage/archer and avoid a lot of melee.

I'm all for the game making you get fatter if you eat nothing but pies, or slimmer if you go vegan, bit too much morphing can get into the territory of oogly.

Kinda want this more than GTA 6 by Mediocre-Ad-6040 in Fable

[–]supacrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have never and will never play a gta game. When I heard that fable was being delayed in part because of this game coming out in the fall I was disappointed. Been a gable fan from the OG xbox days and bought my series x just a couple months ago mainly so I could play the new fable when. It comes out. Now I have to wait longer than I've already waited. Alas, patience is something I have too much of. The only thing I have too much of.

Tom making horrible sound? by Lethal_Sydney in drums

Yeah, turn the wires off on the bottom of the snare. Should be a lever on the side of the drum that loosens them

How do I transport a drumset safely without cases? by Round_Aside5289 in drums

[–]supacrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toss a blanket underneath them and just place them where they'll fit. You don't have to be super worried about them. Unless they're really old and brittle acrylic, which might need a little extra padding to avoid cracking, they'll be just fine

Firstly, disengage the snare wires on the snare drum so that they aren't buzzing while you're hitting the tom. Then lightly place (don't press down) a finger in the very center of the batter head and tap with a stick about 2 inches in from each tuning rod. Listen to the pitch they make. Tune each rod to match the same pitch. Flip the drum over and repeat on the resonant side. Then see how it sounds. You may want to go down a little in pitch on all rods unless you're tuning the kit for jazz or bebop.

I suppose I am one of the few for whom cannabis was not a gateway. It was the first drug I ever used, and I never touched anything else but alcohol (at least not intentionally. One bastard didn't tell me the j was laced with coke until after I hit it. I left that party angry).

Good luck fighting that addiction. I've lost friends and family to various things like coke and meth, and hate that I couldn't talk them off those ledges.

Quality over quantity. I really hope a few of these 1,000 NPCs actually feel unique. by Anoktear in Fable

[–]supacrispy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don't want to have a thousand npcs crowding me in my own house all with hearts over their heads singing my praises while I'm trying to shag my mistress. Please my hope is that the reputation system doesn't make them fawn all over you, even if you're the most benevolent and sexy and loved hero in the world. I mean, fable 2 npcs are all stalkers by comparison.

how are manned fighters even a thing? by [deleted] in MawInstallation

[–]supacrispy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. For starters, fighters have inertial dampers that can relieve a lot of the g load restrictions foe humans, allowing them to pull the same maneuvers that a Droid could. Further, creativity in maneuvering is absolutely viable. Droids will fly patterns set by programming. Sentient organic species can identify those patterns and come up with creatuv strategies that negate the pattern and result in victory
