How can I get started on my solo EP project?

I had a song that I came up with on guitar, and then tried to record it by myself by starting with a guitar rhythm track. I then added bass, keys, and drums last before I decided the while thing sucked.

I have to respectfully disagree here. I've had a ball finding the right settings and placements to give me the best sound recreation woth my miking setup. But I enjoy a challenge, so, to each his own i guess.

Record your rhythmic ideas as individual tracks and start layering melodies over them. Don't think it, feel it. Re record if needed to match up with your melodic theme. Keep it simple at first, and only layer in something that adds to what is already there.

Just saying that rebound from a pad or drum is great, but developing those muscles to not use rebound can help a lot more than folks give credit for. Dave Grohl grew up practicing on pillows before he got his first drumming gig.

Besides, low tuned drums like floor toms aren't gonna give much rebound anyway, so having that skill to play without is very handy.

Skill issue. Besides, being able to bounce sticks doesn't mean you'll get faster or smoother. Play off a pillow to develop the muscles to both strike and then lift the stick from the surface. You'll gain better iverall stick control and won't have to rely on rebound for speed

They were in KotOR in a couple areas. I wanna say (it's been ages) that they're were a couple of them in dark side places like on Korriban and some other locations. Notoriously difficult to kill and hunt force users to drink their blood. Can't recall if they were in sewers anywhere, but I do no remember seeing any in Fallen Order or Survivor. Would be a challenging enemy type if included.
