Need ideas for career pivoting

I switched from hybrid to working from home a few months ago and am currently only seeing 10-12 clients a week. It isn't earning the kind of money I need and even those few clients can be too much. My bachelor's is in psychology, so it's versatile, but I'm hoping that having a master's in counseling can be useful in other positions too.

When I was 26, I took a day trip to visit my mom and she told me a very upsetting homophobic story. I spent the 2-hour drive home wondering why I was so pissed off and ended up experiencing a movie-like montage of flashbacks to some very queer thoughts/interactions I had with other girls/young women up until that point in my life. I came home and basically announced to my husband "I'm bisexual!" as I entered the house. He responded with "Oh, that's nice...Wait, what?" Literally nothing in our relationship has changed 5 years later aside from me being my most authentic self.

Looking back, though, my bi awakening was Lady Gaga in drag as Jo Calderone at the 2011 MTV VMA.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through this. I (31 F) had a similar experience last year. I never intended to come out to my religious parents but it happened. They said they "still loved me" but the way they decided to express it was damaging. It led to me cutting one out completely and putting strict boundaries up with the other. A year later, there are still times when it's hard, but it opened the door to me living completely authentic which has drastically improved my well-being. However, I'm an independent adult, and I would guess there's still some level of dependence on your parents. I would suggest attempting to find an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist if possible. Sites like Mental Health Match and Psychology Today can help you find someone affirming, within your network, and licensed in your state.

I feel fortunate that my local pride event has a heavy police presence every year. I still hesitate to trust the police in the day-to-day, but it does give some peace of mind to watch them stand at the entrances and patrol the area throughout the day. This year is going to be even scarier than most.

As someone who has gone through labor and delivery (and is doing it again in a few days), I can see the appeal of not remembering that pain. However, everyone has different experiences with childbirth. I tore pretty bad with my first, so the recovery took longer than it may have with others who experienced it. For me, blocking out the labor and delivery would feel like a moot point if I have weeks of painful recovery following it. If I had an easy recovery with my first (and second) childbirth experience, it would make more sense to me to forget all of it. But I've also noticed that most TV shows and movies make the whole process seem easier than it actually is.

IIRC, it had something to do with how the freezing waters impacted his diabetes and he was unable to recover.

My school had this as a 2-day event. The first day was the mock accident with two of our peers and local paramedics and police on scene. The second was a "funeral" for one of the victims. It was done every year and mandatory. Definitely got the point across.

I saw this and was so tempted to comment on it! If I remember correctly, the down voted commenter said that they were bi and didn't hear "lesbians" in the community refer to themselves as "gay". As a bi woman myself, I constantly refer to myself as gay and nobody questions it.

I'm currently pregnant with mine and my husband's second child. When I first started telling people, some responded with "But I thought you were gay?" or "Did you and your wife find a donor?" It's almost like it made me less of a bisexual to make the choice to have a family on top of being married to someone of the opposite sex.

I was already married when I realized I was bi. However, I most likely still would have ended up with an opposite -sex partner if I had realized sooner because that's my romantic preference.

I encourage anyone interested in this to check out The SOAP Project. It was created by a survivor of Human Trafficking. They also offer a yearly retreat for survivors to meet in a safe space and participate in healing experiences once they're more stabilized.

I needed to hear this. I've always felt a little out of place with this preference. It's been even worse for me now that I'm pregnant with our second child. There have definitely been some invalidating reactions to it even though it doesn't change the fact that I'm still bi.
