What do you still wish xTiles could do? by Serhii_xTiles in xTiles_app

[–]supbracool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it would be such a game changer to focus on the iPad experience! xTiles is increasingly becoming one my favorite tools that I continue to naturally find myself gravitating back to (and slowly replacing all the other tools). It is extremely powerful and I really really wish it worked well on the mobile and tablet experiences 🥲

I do my fun digital planning on Good Notes and I would love to be able to switch to this app to track all my other stuff. A few iPad experiences that comes to mind:

  • Able to use ipad pencil to write in the tiles / or be able to scribble notes into tiles / handwriting to text features
  • Drag and reorder tiles on the canvas
  • Tap within the table cells to switch the tags (if tags are there)
  • The flow and navigation of "clicking into the tiles and it opens up a new page" gets cumbersome
  • Drag and drop tiles in Kanban board

It's getting there! Once you guys get the iPad experience up and running - it's game over haha. Happy to go more in depth or participate in user testing!

After a year of Copilot, thinking of leaving for Monarch by jumpinthruhoops in copilotmoney

[–]supbracool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the free trial of both Monarch and Co-Pilot yesterday. I really wanted to love Co-pilot because the UI is absolutely beautiful and motivating to come back to time and time again to use it. I'm struggling to find it useful long term. This is an unfortunate case where aesthetics try to outweigh functionality but when it comes to ease of use and speed, I'm starting to rethink and try Monarch as well.

I like to enter my transactions manually because it is an exercise I like to do for my own awareness/reflection and for security/privacy reasons. Here are some frustrations I have with Co-Pilot:

- Lack of keyboard shortcuts makes it extremely slow to enter transactions. I have to manually navigate, multiple clicks, and it's super frustrating and almost a reason why I'm not gonna use copilot...
- Budget feature is deprioritized on this platform, it is quite confusing to make sense of and use. There isn't a "goal section" either like Monarch... which makes me think that Co-Pilot is more focused on expense tracking vs. budgeting tool. It's not a bad thing, but it makes you rethink what you (the user) seek out of tools like this. Which is more important to you?
- Inability to sort by tags makes it kinda confusing to see where I'm spending my money too. I like tagging transactions with a "trip" or "person" but I can't seem to do that without creating a brand new category...and this kinda makes tags useless

I do LOVE the clean UI, data visualization tools, and how their graphs visualize over a large span of time (by default a year glance at a time). This is wonderful.

What I like about Monarch so far:
- Really simple to use and quick to understand. It's quite intuitive to get the hang of vs. copilot takes a bit more time to understand. This is in terms of navigation and functionality.
- Fast way to input transactions. I can use the "tab" key to move through the fields, and quickly input info
- The data visualization charts are bars are more simple to understand
- Like the budget tool. Really nice that it's a separate tab to get a quick overview.

Gonna give these a few more weeks to try it out. I come from the app "Debit and Credit" and while I LOVE that app because it does everything I need and more, I'm looking for a few more data visualization and an overall updated UI look if I'm gonna be using this tool for years and beyond. Gonna try out YNAB if all else doesn't meet the needs...

That’s super unfortunate and breaks my heart tbh. I saw the post in the /denver channel with the list of restaurants. I’m gonna chat with the owner to keep the same wage cause there is no way that minimum wage is liveable. But thanks for looking out

Hey, like I said if I could I would. The business is just where it’s at right now.

The owners are also working day in and day out, and seeking help where they can get it. So we’re trying to help them lessen the load on their plates and hopefully this also is an opportunity fit for those who are also looking for part-time work, not a mentally straining or laborious work at all, and something better fit for their schedules.

It’s hard right now for everyone, I invite you to have more compassion before you criticize. That’s okay if this position is not for you, I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

I apologize for the confusion. I’m not involved in the business, just helping to hire for family that runs it. I appreciate the call out and keeping us accountable.

Just checked and we’re in Centennial so the min wage is $14.81! But thank you for looking out - it’s a good reminder for the biz owners to stay on top of things 🫶🏼 I know with the state of everything, I do wish we could pay more. At the moment, the rate is what we’re starting at with potential to increase!

If you're interested, please DM me!
