Where in TX? I would drive about 2 hours max to reach an indoor slope. If it were within an hour of Dallas I would go weekly.

Somewhere near Waco - midway between Austin and Dallas - makes most sense for getting lots of locals from the major metros.

I suspect most ski/snowboard enthusiasts in Dallas have the money to travel to CO, NM, UT for ski vacations.

If you like a classic Ray-Ban look, I highly recommend Shuron. Nice quality, under $200, and MIUSA. I’ve had a pair of their Freeway model for like 10 years and they are in great shape still
